I can't fit the PCI SATA card with a SIL3112 chipset into my computer. What is my next option?
Can I use an external SATA drive? Do I need to buy something else? Do I need to try something else? Thanks for any help.

I recently bought the same card you have, and wasn't very happy with it. Everything went fine with it until I went to dump my firmware and the checksum would never be right. Later I found out that this chipset isnt' very compatible. For some it works but most it doesn't. I just bought another one yesterday from here. This is the via 6421 chipset and 360 firmware toolbox was tested with this and it should work 100%. I will get it tuesday and let you know if it works, if you would like.

SIL3112 chipsets will work with every Hitachi drive except the 0078FK but for some reason mine even works with that drive too.

Just to update you sadie on how things went with the card I linked you to, it went flawlessly. Took just a few minutes to set things up and had absolutely no problems with it! Hope everything works for you also, good luck.

I also just bought the Samsung SH-D162c with 0.81 FIRMWARE for my pc, do i have to do anything else to the firmware for it to read the xbox 360 games..
