If I pull an 800MB file off the 'net and burn it via NeroVision Express (6) it is fine.
However, if I pull the 4.0 GB files - the DVD rips - and burn it using Nero Recode, the menu flips on my DVD player from top to bottom. If I play the movie, the movie flips as well, making it impossible to watch.

Some notes:

1) It is not my DVD player. This worked just fine when I used DVDShrink, but DVDShrink became uncompatable with the later Nero versions.
2) It is not the DVD. The brand/type is the same
3) The DVD plays fine on the computer drive.
4) I have gone back and forth with Nero and they have finally thrown up their hands. I unchecked the 'burn at once' box, and used the highest quality burn. Also the lowest quality burn.
5) This has happened for six different movies, so it is not the movie either.
6) I have also tried DVD Clone and it gave me the same result.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Any suggestions?
Thanks all

I'm using the latest version of Nero7 and Shrink works fine. The last version of Nero 6 did not (TRF errors among other problems) so we reconmmend:
Package 1:
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2 :
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

What do you mean exactly, by "flips"...is the picture upside-down or is it rolling horizontally or..?

This sounds like a compatability issue here. Are you selecting the correct TV format for your equipment, ie, PAL vs NTSC?

Unchecking the burn at once box, changing the quality is not going to fix this.

Rolling - that's the word that I wanted! Flips...that doesn't work. No, the picture rolls from top to bottom.
Changing the NTSC to PAL is not something that I have tried. It has never been an issue before, but I will give it a shot now. If that fails, I will look at your two links and see about changing my version. Short of that, I guess I will have to buy version seven...

I'll post what works on this forum so others can see...
thanks!

Here is my solution:

It was coded as PAL and I needed it to be NTSC. Nero Recode does not give the option to do this. I had to do it on NV Express...and forget about including the menus...and just create my own basic menu instead.

Doing it this way turns the sound very low (virtually off), but when I go to "edit movie" and "record" several seconds of sound, I am allowed to open the audio properties box, raise this up to 200%, and for some reason the sound is fixed for the entire movie.

Not as nice as how I used to do it (when it worked) but it will do for now...

@Dobber17,

Think you are correct that it is PAL and needs to be NTSC to play on your player. Here is another long thread on this subject;

The best solution IMO is to find and inexpensive DVD player that will play both types of formats. They are readily avaiable just do a search. This will give you the easiest way to get a good playback, most conversion are a PITA and results not always good.
