enter hacker mode and go to your psp's flash, go to the vsh/resource folder you'll find topmenu there, make a backup first then copy the custom topmenu and paste into resource

Ya,s like makin life hard for yourselfs.
Download TopMenuFlasher it copies your file to your MS and also flashes it back.

anybody know how to change the text under the icons.
my psp life- 2.01, 2.50, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.71 SE-A, 2.71 SE-B, 2.71 SE-C, 3.02 OE-A, 3.02 OE-B, 3.03 OE-A, 3.03 OE-B, 3.03 OE-C

im guessing you are on about the font, first you need a ltn0.pgf file and second you need xflash. put x flash onto your psp, then connect psp to pc. go to x:/psp/game/__SCE__XFLASH/xflash/modified and place the ltn0.pgf file there, it will ask do you want to replace existing ltn0.pgf file. click yes then open up xflash and scroll down to install custom font, and when you exit xflash voila, there is your new font.
note: if you are on a custom firmware ie 3.02 oe-b the xflash application goes inside the game150 folder and noot the game folder

ohhh right i know what he is on about now.
yes you need to be on version 1.5 to do that, and you need x-flash. you scroll down to option 6 on x flash... i think. an it should say somethin like change xmb text, select that option, sorry bout goin through detailed explanation on font when you never even wanted to lol

using this guide, i still can't seem to get the damn icons to line up right, 1 and 2 end up split in in two and lined-up not correctly.

gzach. changing xmb icons is for custom firmware i think , i use mine on 3.02 oe-b.
and smurff, what guide areyou talking aBout the afterdawn guide, or the guide in my sig?

well i guess it's the guide on PSPhacks actually, but i meet the specs
64x64 8bpp etc. 5.05Kb
and they always turn out fughed.

hmm, you are making your own pictures right? well i have never done that i just downloaded a package of loads of icons and then created the topmenu_plugin.rco. or i jus download a topmenu_plugin.rco and flash it

yeah, I'm making my own.
isn't that the whole point of being customizable :-)
lol, i got a couple icons to work, but then the ones i use for 1 and 2 always seem to not work.....even when resized and compensated for.
