is there a way to use HDD as a memory card?

being a complete noob here, but can i use my HDD as a memory card and save gameplay on it like a normal memory card?

i got the HDD for free in case anyone is wondering why i don't just go buy a memory card.
i got a fat ps2 and my HDD is configured to play ps2 games with swapmagic
if there is a way plz explain to me how you would do this.
