Been reading on this and head the xbox360 only supports wmv files, but somewhere i heard that is supports MPEG files also. Can anyone confirm that? Oh and any1 know where to get a reasonable AVI to wmv converter?

I think you need Windows Media Center Edition in order to stream MPG formats. I have XP and the Zune Media Player and am only able to play WMV files. I use TMPEGExpress to convert to WMV.

WinAVI also can do that conversion,and fast.

I am not sure whether this works but I have heard that if you get transcode 360 it will let you stream different formats to the 360.

Thats correct...there are several programs that will transcode most video formats. There is usually a longer delay before the 360 begins to play the file and also the on-the-fly conversion will bog slower processors down.
