dax dumper has quite a few splitting options available to it. all i have needed to do is just connect the usb cable and it automatically establishes the connection with my pc. although i admit i've never tried splitting the files. but i have dumped 5-6 umd's back to back without ever leaving the dax dumper. as soon as it finishes dumping one i connect the usb and move the file to the pc, then disconnect the usb again. for someone reason if i don't manually connect, and disconnect the usb calbe after each dump the file doens't show on the mem stick.

sorry for the double, the kernal is set to 3.02 by default. the kernel is fine as long as you put the folders in the GAME150 folder.

Are you able to still play back-up psp iso's with 3.02OE-A?
And how am I able to load 3.02OE-A from 2.71?
I hear you have to downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade to 3.02OE-A.
But how do you downgrade then upgrade?

3.02 OE-A does allow you to play umd iso's. OE-B let's you play iso's and ps1 games. and your correct, you have to downgrade your psp from 2.71 to 1.5 before you can upgrade to 3.02OE-A. before you even consider downgrading you have to determine which motherboard you have. meaning either you have a ta-082, or a non ta-082. downgrading procedures are different for each mobo (motherboard)

I do have the ta-082 mobo. Do you know where I can get the new firmware for it? One last question. Is a UMD needed to load them?

there are several good guides on this forum that have links to everything needed for both the downgrade to 1.5, and upgrade to 3.02OE-A. mine is a non ta-082 so i won't be much help to ya there. a few games will operate with the "no umd" enabled, but many games will require this function to be disabled to work normally. basically get a cheap umd game and leave it in the psp. hope the info helps, and good luck.

last minute edit
instead of upgrading to 3.02OE-A, i would suggest going to 3.03 OE-A, then to 3.03 OE-A` it is very nice.

Im a bit skeptical about going to 3.03OE-A. What would happen if I hard reset my PSP? How easy is it to use? I currenty use HEN-D and Devhook. Im new to the site and I thank you for your help so far.

i'm still fairly new to this myself. i use to use hen-c then hen-d. then after reading so many different posts about 3.02 OE-A i decided to go for it. I have absolutely no regrets. with this new custom firmware there is no longer any need for hen-d, and no more dev hook. that means no more bouncing back and forth. it runs smooth and easy. you can hard reset you psp and it comes straight back to the custom firmware. it also includes a recovery mode that allows you to fix semi bricked psp's. i've never needed this particular feature yet, but it's good to know it's there. in recovery mode you can also choose whether to run the 3.03 kernal, or 1.50 kernal. based on the kernal you select it will boot to that one everytime until you change that setting.

my best advice is to scan this forum as much as you can. i've spent countless hours reading through threads. there are many excellent people here with much more knowledge than myself. some of the things they can do with there psp simply astonishes me. i hope to be able to do what they do someday.

read through some of the different guides, and find the one that works best for you. after using 3.02OE-A i would never consider going back to hen-d, and devhook. to me it would be like taking my xp and going back to windows 95... but that's just my opinion.

Wow, Win 95? You took it way back! So after I upgrade to 3.03OE-A (which you say is the better one)I can then format my memory stick and I will be able to play my backed up ISO's and PSone? Im sorry I keep asking the same question over and over in different format.

3.03 OE-A` (or as some call it OE-A 2) is the newest version available. you can't get to it though without being on the normal 3.03 OE-A first. you can take your psp from 2.71 to 1.5 to 3.03OE-A and skip the 3.02 OE-A (OE-B) revision. once on it you will be able to play most homebrews, iso's, and ps1 backups. i don't do alot with homebrews, but the ones i've used have worked perfect. I have a fair number of iso's and they all work great as well. as of late i've been backing up my psx games for play on the psp as well. majority of them have worked very well. and the best part of it is that all these show up in the game directory of your memory stick all at once no changing from one mode to another to run a particular item. the only set back i found through all of this is that my game saves from being on hen-d with devhook do not work. when you try to load a game save from dev hook on this new version you get a corrupt file message. while it kinda sucks, it's a very small draw back compared to everything you gain.

once on 3.03 OE-A you could completey format your mem stick and the only thing you would want to keep on it would be the recovery folder just incase you ever semi bricked your psp. i've always backed up my mem stick before formatting just so i can hang onto my pics, and mp3's and such. then just reload them on once you've formatted.

if you don't have the recovery folder you could always just re-download 3.02 OE-A from here. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/960 ... extract the files the recovery folder is inside the flasher for recovery folder. just drop the recovery folder into your game folder on your psp.

someone might know a simpler way. but it only takes a couple minutes to do it this way.

Would anyone be able to post the 2 links so that I may do this? You guys are awesome! I love this site!

you can actually skip the 3.02 OE-A upgrade and go straight from 1.5 to 3.03 OE-A upgrade. heres a ta-082 downgrade tut from touran22
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/441460

or i also saw this one.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/441460

as i said i don't have a ta-082, so i'm not familiar with the downgrade process for one.

and you can get the 3.03 OE-A upgrade from here. there is also an easy installer for the custom firmware.

Awesome! 3.03OE-A is working on my TA-082 MOBO. I have a problem regarding one of my backed up games. Smackdown VS Raw 2006 takes a LONG time to load and I wanted to run it right through the ms. I can only get to the title screen when I press start it freezes. Any way that I can fix this?
