im trying to connect to the internet browser and when i test the connection after it says obtaining ip adress it says "communication with the server failed. A DNS error has occured.(8041040d)."
What do i do.

Try using custom settings instead of the "Easy" option.
What type of router do you have? Does it have WEP or another type of encryption?
What firmware do you have?

i tried custom settings. My wireless router is a linskys wireless-g broadband router. i dont know how to tell the encription. My firmware is 2.81

what internet service provider? and this is their problem call then up and tell them you need you're WEP key

When you scan for Wireless Accesspoints on your PSP it should say what type of encryption it has (or none if it doesn't).

Then its not a problem with encryption.
Try turning "WLAN Power Save" off.
