Here is the problem every time I open a folder with a music file,WMA or MP3, or a video file of any format as soon as I highlight the file before I even click on it, my computer locks up. A error window pops up and tells me in the title bar Program Error and in the windows it says explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. Sometimes when this happens I have to reactivate my active desktop. But if I use another program to open the folder were the file is I can open/play the file. Even with windows media player. Explorer I think is having the problem or windows media player is.
First were is this log located so I can read it or post it here for help. Second I do not want to format the drive and start over.
Does any body have a idea what I can do. I am running Windows 2000 AMD Athlon, 1 gig of ram, 128meg ATI video card. I am pretty good with computers. I can fix most things.
I have reinstalled windows media player also updated it and it still is happing. I keep up on all my scandisk, defrag, and all the basic maintenance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advanced .

Don't you hate it When people say, "It's always in the last place you look". What the HELL??? Of course it
is. Why the HELL would you keep looking for it after you've already found it?
Who the HELL are these people?
