Isn't it time to lose all the devhook stickie guides, devhook is pretty much redundant now

it does have to do with the main point of this thread if some stickies are going to be removed it as to be decided which ones should replace them and you cant just assume that everyone will use dark alex custom firmware ,i agree with L-Burna i will stay with device hook and i expect that at least one stickied thread about device hook remains ,i have no interest in psx games and i belive i'm not the only one

just popping in as i'm too busy to go thru my replies properly at the mo, i honestly don't mind/care what comes out of this as long as it results in a cleaner more efficient forum; if it means a few stickies still then fine, but either way anything that will cut down on the mind-numbing repetitive replies in here has to be good; of course i'll still be relying on the regulars in here to do what's necessary after the cleanups, ie start reporting anything that needs closing/fixing etc etc etc. There's very little/virtually no 'offensive reports' coming from the PSP forums so the only cleanups so far are thru muggins here (and other mods of course) making time to go thru the threads. Which let's be honest is pi** poor, it should really be the other way round, you lot should be helping me keep the crap down to a minimum, especially as i personally have to actual interest in PSP hence any effort from me in here is purely voluntary..

yes i did read your posts ,you prefere dark alex custom firmware i prefere device hook and like you there others that prefere dark alex custom firmaware, and there are also others like me that prefere device hook, so we need stickied threads about both, because you cant say for sure that in the future you are not going to return to device hook ,maybe not maybe you will, what suprises me is that people that use device hook for so long dont hesitate in labeling device hook as someting from the past no longer needed

well once you upgrade to 3.02oe-b devhook is something of the past:)
so you decided to stay in 1.5 with devhook so? we still dont need 3 stikys of devhook....not as much people are asking about devhook anymore...most post here are about 3.02oe-b and how to get it on there psp and to run psx games on it...so keeping one devhook would be alright but 3 when not many people are asking for it...kinda useless..

device does what i want emulate psp games i dont have interest in nothing more so i will stay with device hook ,sony is not going to stop in 3.03 and booster always updated device hook ,i think its to soon and unfair to say that device hook is now useless
the number of threads could be only one as long as it as the necessary information ,there are much more useless stickied threads than those about device hook

I have to agree here, i am an OE-B user, and right enough flashing is risky and at the moment were running out of space on the nand, hardy comes to hardy and theres stuff we cant run because of no space on the nand... i,ll be back to 1.50 and DevHook in the blink of an eye...

well, whatever anyone says, its their own opinion
i prefer using OE-B to devhook, there's no annoying menu's or anything like that, all stuff from the XMB
EDIT: wow, didnt see it was a sticky until now

I would say there needs to be about 5 stickies along the lines of -
1. Devhook 0.5X + USB tutorial and FAQ
2. 3.0X OE-X Guide and FAQ (not sure if PSX and AVC need their own threads? Don't think so, they just need to be in the FAQ)
3. A noob thread, the everything you need to know one, where everything goes in what folder etc.
4. Custom mods FAQ, as in Gameboots, coldboots, pluigins, prxs, etc.
5. And an empty thread just titled "Anything above 2.81 CANNOT BE DOWNGRADED SO STOP ASKING YOU NOOBS!!!!"
I'm not kidding about number 5, lol.
These seem to be the most important/ discussed topics in the PSP scene right now? At least the ones that need stickies
USA Factory 1.5 > 2.71 SE-C > 3.03 OE-C, 4GB Sandisk + 1GB Sandisk, D-Pad Mod, SNES 9x_TYL 0.4.2, DGEN 1.70, NesterJ 1.11, DDR Mix V.1, PSP Revolution v.03 Anime, currently playing - Tony Hawk's Project 8, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, WSC 2007

i think there should be a thread about the custom firmware stuff.
like a guide about it and everything.
cool mods and such, not sure about the exact breakdown, but there should be something....

Yep agree with you on that Smurff.
Alot of people seemed to get mixed up with the GAME folder layouts.
I always recommend your GAME folder to run 1.50 kernal, and just create a GAME303 folder for the PSP demos and stuff.
99% of homebrew only runs on 1.50 kernal so it stands to reason.

I would agree with npdyna and smurf, I'm still using dh0.46 and 0.51, alot of peeps not interested in ps1 games don't feel the need to upgrade, don't think dh is redundant yet/

There's been alot of discussion in the past on this issue (quite a bit by yours truly) but nothing ever seems to get done so I just started a new sticky that will contain any and all pertinent guides to the PSP. It'll remain closed but new guides can and will be added by myself as new posts with the proper credit given to the guide author. Here's the link,
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/454995
Anyone who wants their guide added simply needs to pm me the guide so I can open the thread and add it. I know it isn't a perfect solution but something needs to be done so our first page isn't taken over by stickies. Any suggestions for changes to my plan are most welcome :)
*Edit - I also gave links to the original thread with each guide so folks can ask questions and get more info there instead of starting a new thread :)
**Edit - hodgins91, I added your guide :)

Nice one, looks a hell of a lot better and now there is just one thread to direct people too.
Probably won't stop the barage of annoying repeat questions but hey, what can you do.
