Wow, any 4gb cards actually work?

Well it's just getting silly now. I've seen so many people talking about how their 4gb Memory Stick Duo cards just won't work or something along those lines.
What I want to know is, does anyone out there have one that works with the PSP? They seem highly unreliable to me and from experience, 4gb cards generally tend not to work that often.
Maybe it's just people being too quick at buying up really cheap ones off eBay or Amazon and finding they are fake cards and won't work or defective or something.
Any thoughts?

I have a genuine Sandisk 4gb card that has worked great from the day I got it. There have been reports of fakes going around so be cautious if buying from ebay or over seas. I got mine from tigerdirect.com

I see, that's what I had a suspicion of, them fake cards really make me annoyed as it's hard to tell sometimes what you're actually buying.
Roughly how much did you get yours for? I already have a 2GB High Speed genuine Sony card which was pretty cheap at around £20 I think from Amazon Marketplace.
I'll be sure to check out that site you gave. Cheers for the rapid response.

i have a fake 2gb stick thats worked perfectly, i think there are some quality fakes out there

Really? Haha, I didn't know that. I thought fake cards were just bits of plastic with metal strips and painted to look just like genuine cards.

no not really. a fake canbe the same as a original but just be fake in name. so it might be a sony in name but a sand disc in flash.

Hmm, I'm in the UK and I have a gift certificate for £15 off anything at Amazon.co.uk and I want to get a new memory stick.

Look at the top seller (it's in the marketplace) and the other sellers and see which ones you think are safe to go for because I'm not 100% convinced, I mean one of them says 'red version' which I'm guessing is different?
I hate shopping for stuff like this...

Yer, I was very curious as to how they could sell it so cheap, hmm...
Oh well, I'll give them a whirl as he has a 14 day no-quibble full refund scheme which sounds good, and what with the voucher I'd be a fool not to buy now.

Crap. Amazon won't let me put my gift voucher towards the cost of the 4gb card because I'm ordering from a 3rd party seller...
I guess I'll just buy it and see what happens and if I don't have enough I'll probably get a higher capacity battery pack or just another 2gb card using the voucher.
Still, it doesn't make sense why Amazon can't just cover the £15 voucher for the 3rd party payment, I mean it's my voucher isn't it?!
