Hi all.. i am new..
i am so new i dont have a psp just yet =).

i have no problem at all with finding out how to do things myself.. but first i would really appreciate a couple of answers to a couple of really simple questions..

there is just so much envolved with the psp it seems..
anyway

what i was wondering is if i go out and buy a new psp tomorrow.. and for the sake of arguing assume it ha the newest firmware.. is therea way ill be able to get it to play isos/homebrew at all? via a downgrader or what have you?

if the answer is yes then ill go on ahead and look at some tutorials or what not.. thanks i really appreciate it

BTW what would the newest firmware be? And if I can downgrade it what effects would that have? such as would it not play new games? thanks =)

well that im not 100% sure of. i heard some talk about psp's sold in stores having a higher firware sometime mid to late january. this may or may not be true. i bought mine about a month before christmas at walmart and mines is fine.. there is also a guide on the internet about how to tell the firmware and mobo version.. so do a little research.. as long as its not a 2.82 firmware then you should be in the clear.. but again dont take my word for it.. do a little more research

ok great thanks alot..im not exactly sure where to start.. but i dont have a psp yet so is there anyway to findout what firmware your psp is before you buy it? my biggest fear is paying 250 bucks and not haveing a psp to use for homebrew and iso's..
