stuck on SONIC THE HEDGEHOG.. please help !!!!!

Can anyone please help us, as we are stuck.
When you are tails, sonic want you to close the gate switch, so the killer whale will not get out.
Tails has flown across the the island, got the extra life and killed the robot. Then tails go through the portal to the next island, where a robot is on the boxes and flying robots are in the sky.
Where is the gate switch, Can anyone PLEASE help.
