Question... if you don't have a ta-082 motherboard, how do you tell if its a 079, 089, 081, or 086? Do you have to manually take apart the psp and see for yourself on the motherboard?
Well what happens if i try to use a ta-079 downgrader and i happen to have a... ta-086 for instance (i dont know if i have this or not) is there a higher risk in bricking it?

ta-086 psp's only come on 2.82 psp's and higher I believe, so even so, there is no downgrader for the ta-086's.
If you have ta-082, use the ta-082 downgrader. If not, then use the normal downgrader, that's all you need to know. TA-079, TA-089, and TA-081 all use the same downgrader.
