Is it worth it to upgrade to 3.02oe is it better then my 1.50? Is there a risk of bricking the psp and can you play all of the same homebrew as 1.50 so like all emulators and stuff for 1.50 would work? Also what is the recovery mode for on 3.02oe-b,a? Thanks

3.02 OE-A,B is in my opinion the dogs balls.
You can play 99% of V1.50 homebrew, your back-ups (without the need of devhook) plus PSX games (OE-B) without the need of a PS3 to download them.
Recovery, is incase of a brick or you dont like OE-A,B you can downgrade to V1.50 again.
OE-A,B pack download in my sig.

so 3.02 oe-a/b is an actual upgrade of the fw to 3.02 and not just a temporary flash of the system still running 1.5? I'd like to run psx games but that just seems like a potential problem to me.

Its not a temporary flash, its a whole custom firmware which replaces firmware 1.5.

However this is not that much of a problem because 3.02 OE-B has all of the features of 1.5 and more.

Plus its very safe and the chances of you bricking your PSP is very small (provided you have over 75% battery life and an AC adapter plugged in while upgrading).

For more info, see my 3.02 OE-A/B guide:

(this is a Google Cache of my guide as my site is down atm).

You always have a chance of bricking when you do something with upgrading or downgrading your firmware, but as long as you just follow the instructions you'll have a functional PSP. Just be patient and if the screen goes black don't turn it off, just wait.

Yes, you just make a 'GAME150' folder in the PSP directory. You could rename the other folder instead if you like (If you have 1.50 eboots in it already), but you should make another 'GAME' folder after doing so.
