Please help my PSP is 1.5 but show 2.0

Hi all
I have to admit i am a noob in this psp thingy.
I have got myself a PSP, the seller claims its a 1.5 version but when i go to system information , it shows 2.0 as the fw version.
But this is the interesting part, i can install irshell and devhook .46 on it. I can also play my umd games, dynasty warrior and virtua tennis which require version higher than 1.5 to play.
I am a bit confused, so is my psp 1.5 version or 2.0 version? 1 more thing when i load the umd, there is an update 1.52 on the game option, which probably shown if it's 1.5 fw but when i click on it, it said something like my current version is higher than the update.
My other question is, is it safe for me to install 3.02 oe on this psp? because i cant really confirm it's a 1.5 or 2.0 machine and im afraid it might brick my machine if i mess up.

Anyway, even if its a 2.00 you should not be sad or mad cuse you can easly downgrade it to 1.50

no there is no web browser either, everything indicates the version is 1.5, it's just that the system info is showing 2.0. very weird dont u think?
i am abit afraid to upgrade it to 3.02 oe, what do u guys think? should i or shouldnt i do it?
Does anyone know how this can happen?

i tried to downgrade it to 1.5, however overflow.tiff doesnt actually get displayed on my machine, I am not quite sure why, therefore i didnt proceed with downgrade procedure as I am not sure what version my psp really is

Can't you change what the system settings say with x-flash? I dunno why the seller would change it to say 2.0 though, thats a bit odd. o.O

When u run DevHook,
There are some info around about ur PSP Firmware, Battery, ISO Path...

very interesting.. how much did you buy it off for? mybe its benn flashed using the version spoof on x-flash

yes quite weird isnt it? i have tried to lookup on the internet for weeks now and i never heard something like this somewhere else
i will try with looking it from devhook, i dont have my psp with me currently, but from what i know, if we load devhook with whatever firmware during the selection, doesnt system info will display whatever firmware we choose? for example if i choose 2.71 it will display 2.71? i am not sure i havent tried to see it myself, will look at it tonite

But dude, he said that when he clicked the 1.51 update, his psp said he had a higher firmware. Does the version spoof usually do that?

ok this is the latest twist to this saga :)
I checked from devhook and the fw displayed there is 1.05.001
1.05 thats right, it's not 1.5... is that supposed to be like that or my real version is emmm 1.05? never heard of that version really
Anyway, if it has been spoofed by xflash, how do i reverse it? can i just upgrade it to 3.02 oe without reversing it?

yes u can upgrade to OE-A/B without unspoofing
BUT
If you wanna unspoof do the following:
Downlaod X-flash (any version)
run it and navigate to the version spoofing.
Set it to original and voila!

sorry i keep dragging this on and on. If i want to unspoof it, which version is my original? 1.05? does it mean i have to upgrade to 1.5 first before running installation for 3.02 oe?

Can be that it's a quite old PSP and the WAB Version changer was used on it. Try to reset the original settings, should show what FW version your PSP has then.
Interesting that noone has come up with that before.
Changing what your settings say was the first way to bypass sony's FW-check in games, back when FW 2.00 still was the most up-to-date FW. Maybe the seller did that, started to use DevHook later and never bothered to rechange the settings for that PSP.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

i have reset to original setting, but the firmware still shows 2.0. Anyway i just want to know why dv 0.46 displaying my fw as 1.05 but fastloader displaying it as 1.5?

i am also having the same problem.my psp is version 2.0 but i cant downgrade to 1.5 cos i try to use the mphdowngrader and copying the overflow.tif didnt show in my psp photo icon.....what went wrong??can any one really help mi get it back to my 1.5 version??.

Dude, I think 1.5 is 1.05.001 for short. Or maybe 1.05.001 is 1.51? lol Someone with 1.5 go into devhook and see. >_>

yeah i saw it somewhere that 1.05 on devhook means 1.5 therefore i upgrade mine to 3.02 OE. I have to say i am really pleased with it although there were some issues i havent figured out yet like playing wma will need to connect to internet? why do they do that for? and i cant play my umd games while listening to music from irshell anymore :(
but i think nothing is perfect, so ill live with it
