I was going to point you to another post, but it wasn't good. Tell me what programs you are using, and what steps that you are following.

I used DVDFab Decrypter, VobBlanker, Nero Recode2, before I burned it.

Go to http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ and download DVD Decrypter. With AnyDVD running decrypt the files to your hard drive. I recommend using VobBlanker after that, unless you are burning movie only. You can get VobBlanker here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_.../vobblanker.cfm

If you need a little help using VobBlanker see alkohols guide. http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm?id=1128

If that does not work as it should then get DVDFab Decrypter from here. http://dvdidle.com/free.htm

The other solution is to go to http://www.ripit4me.org/download.html and download all the programs and run RipIt4Me. You can read a guide about that here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110

This movie is a Sony movie that has some difficulties if you do not do it correctly. RipIt4Me may be the best option for newbies. DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter are not updated any more, and even though they are great programs they need a little assistance. Give one of these methods a try and let me know if you were successful.

DA VINCI CODE has the latest Sony protections, but it can be ripped and backup easily.

All you need is either DVDFab Decrypter (FREE) or RipIt4Me (FREE) to rip and the rest is history with your favorite burning engine.

To make a long story short, here are 2 free and simple methods.

* DVDFab Decrypter - to rip
* Nero Recode or DVD Shrink (your choice) - to transcode/shrink
* Nero or ImgBurn (your choice) - to burn your final VIDEO_TS folder (BUP, IFO, VOB files)

RipIt4Me is another flawless method

* RipIt4Me - to rip, actually DVD Decrypter + FixVTS
* Nero Recode or DVD Shrink (your choice) - to transcode/shrink
* ImgBurn or Nero - to burn your final VIDEO_TS folder (BUP, IFO, VOB files)

NOTE: If you're the few like my buddy "syxguns" and I, that likes to delete/blank out junks (i.e. FBI Warnings, rating logos/screens, useless previews, commercials/advertisements, etc.) to save more space and gain more quality on your backups, then try this Basic deleting/blanking GUIDE (using VobBlanker).

Best of luck!!

Both DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me can handle this (DA VINCI CODE) smoothly.
