I recently got one of these boxes and I deleted a channel by accident. When I rescan it does not come back. I don't have the software disk that was used to set it up. Is there anyway I can get it back to the state where it was before it performed the first scan. I don't want to restore the factory settings as it would probably wipe out the software installed.

As for restoring to an earlier time, similar to System Restore in Windows XP, I don't believe this to be possible on a Dbox2. But with regards to channels scanning, I found that scanning during the night or early hours results in more channels being detected. Try it..

I've done it again and I have not deleted a channel. What happens is while its scaning it says SKY sports 1 @ 156 SKY sports 2 @ 157 (yeah the main channel I watch) yet when I actually go to 156 it has SKY ONE. So I think there is a problem other than whatever I might have done.

Pass.. I didn't see earlier that you were using a Starview, and wrongly assumed it was a Dbox2. I'm afraid I've no experience with Starview.. Sorry..

Forgive me if this is a daft question but when you do a scan you have made sure that you have set the right cable setting i.e if you are on N*L you have set it to N*L just asking :-)
