Hi,
Have searched and searched still no remedy to this problem.
I have Pioneer 111d, with 1.29 fimware (tried also with 1.23)
Used various brands of DVD+R DL, incl datawrite titaniums, verbs and others.
Tried different registered versions of clonecd, imgburn, DVD Decrypter.
i'm sure all setting for these have been correct, like setting layer break in img burn and editing the .dvd file
burning with clonecd without editing the .dvd file.
all discs are being spit out at around 52% and wasting the disc.
this is basically the same log every time;
21:07:04 CloneCD Version 5.3.0.1 started!
I 21:07:04 ElbyCDIO Driver 6.0.0.1
I 21:07:04 ElbyCDIO.dll 6.0.5.1
I 21:07:04 CCDDriver.dll 5.0.0.1
I 21:07:04 ElbyECC.dll 4.0.0.0
I 21:07:04 WriteDVD.dll 2.6.3.1

I 21:07:40 Writing Session 1 LeadIn...
I 21:08:13 Writing Session 1 image file...
I 21:35:54 Duration of operation: 00:28:14
I 21:35:54 Average Speed: 2040 kBytes/s (1.51)
E 21:35:56 Writing to PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D failed
hard drives set to NTFS
IDE transfer mode read; transfer mode: DMA if available
Current transfer mode: ultra dma mode 4
i've tried putting the pioneer 111d in my old pc with same results.
anyone any idea please? this has really got me stuck.

Now this sounds like a possible cause. As a matter of fact, that's why I have my Sony DRU-810a on my secondary IDE channel.
Here's what you do. Open the PC and check to make sure the cable to your HDD isn't the same cable your burner is on. If it IS, then take out the cable from the burner, and plug it into the secondary ide channel. If there's no other drives using this channel, set the burner to MASTER (you'll have to follow a diagram on the actual drive to move the jumpers to the proper place.)
If there's another drive that's already a master on the secondary IDE channel, then set the burner to SLAVE and make sure you use the middle channel on the IDE cable. Sorry if I could draw, I'd show you how.

this is where i get lost a bit, no idea what i'm looking at inside the pc so here it goes,
opened the pc. and from what i can see, the hard drives dont connect to the writers at all, there is what i think is the ide cable (a wide floppy cable) and that goes from the writer to the motherboard.
then the hard drives have a small red cable also going to the motherboard into a port with sata 1 and sata 2 written next to them.
any of this sound correct?

Well since you have SATA ports for your HDD's make sure the Burner is plugged into the primary IDE slot (look on the motherboard, it will say primary ide) Make sure the burner is set to master and using DMA mode. Do a google for "setting DMA on CD-ROM" to find out how to do that.
Everything else seems cool though.

ok, the cable going from my pioneer and lite-on is plugged into the primary ide.
pioneer set to master,
lite-on set to slave
primary ide channel set to dma mode if available on both devices
secondary ide channel set to dma if available on both devices
c:location 0 primary ata channel
d:location 0 secondary ata channel
e: Pioneer Location 1(1)
f: Lito-on Location 0(0)
this al sound correct?

the easiest way to backup a original game is to get the SAMSUNG SH-D162C DRIVE KREON 0.81 DVD XBOX 360 Xtreme from ebay. you have no problems at all with this. Recommend this way to anyone 100% backups with this.

cant be the media since you have same error in same spot.
MAKE SURE YOU BURN AT 2.4X ONLY not slower or faster.
use the Pionneer 111D and figure that one out. that has more hopes.

i have had this problem with 3 different types of media including verbs.
the lite-on writer is a dual writer, same result with that.
tried burning with an edited .dvd file and an un-edited file still no luck.
these coasters are mounting up! really got me baffled this.
gonna try a direct copy of a mates backup game that i kow works on the 360, will post with result.
