Alright I have searched through the other threads and none seemed to clarify my question. I have wifi in my house and I want to be able to hookup the ps2 to it. What will I need? A wireless ethernet bridge? I saw this do you think it would work? If not i was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative to the 100 dollar belkin things. Thanks

I managed to get it working using a network bride. However it was tricky. First of all you have to configure the wireless bridge using your pc / laptop and give it a static ip address (check range with your router first). Then you have to make sure it picks up any encryption you have setup.

You also then have to make the wireless bridge in your DMZ on your router so it allows traffic to be sent from the external world to your ps2 in your wireless network.

Then you have to configure your ps2 network adapter with the same IP address as the static ip on your wireless bridge i think? I've not done it in a long time but it was good to get it all working.

I bought something similar to this. Plug it into your PC / Laptop with standard ethernet lead. Then you can configure it using the software cd or type in the devices default IP address.

Just looked at your bridge link. You would need two of these for it to work. One at the playstation plug end and another where your router is for the internet connection. Then both plugs talk to each other and send data from one to the other. This would be the easiest way to get it working. If you did it this way you might still have to configure your ps2 network adapter on your home network or maybe open up some ports to allow traffic through? Sorry for the geek speek.

Cheers, ben

Im afraid so. These devices work on your electricity. So they create their own links and ignore your wireless completely. This acts like a link between your plug socket and your router.
