Ok, here's the deal, I'm trying to back up my God of War DVD as per the instructions on this forum, but I can't even get past the initial "rip to ISO" stage. I set DVD Decrypter to ignore read errors, and to not retry, and it gets some read errors for a fairly large chunk of sectors around 6% that it took about an hour and half to get past. Then there was another at like 48%, that after 9 hours, was still not getting anywhere.
Has this been the experience for everyone, am I doing something wrong? What's going on?
search God Of War here. It is an old subject and i am sure there are plenty of posts with instructions.
Or just go to a torrent site and download an already done ISO
They have God Of War DVD5 files out there, or at least they did a year ago when everyone was backing up that game.
There may even be rip kits out there.
I've been searching the forums for 2 days, and no one seems to have the same problems I have.
I'd rather not download the ISO as I'm on rather slow DSL.
I guess I'll just let it sit overnight later and see if it eventually works through it, but it'd be nice if there was a setting I forgot to check or something.
ok the god of war .iso file is about 9gb, but it does not take 9 hours to rip. there is definitely something wrong with that disc or your burner.
keep in mind that once you successfully rip the .iso file, you need to rebuild it (which is a huge pain.)
it's 100x easier to just download it...
i have a working backup of GOW that i tested once. I don't play it anymore because i didn't really like those types of games. If you want it i can ship it to you for free provided you cover shipping costs (shouldn't be more than 2 bucks.) it's burned on a taiyo yuden DVD-R. let me know.
