Hello.

I have been having a problem with my modded (Modbo) slim ps2.
Whenever I try playing action replay, when I get the the point where I have to insert my game disk the disk will read for about 5 seconds then stop. And I get the message "Ensure your game disk is inserterd, then press OK" Infinitly untill I decide to reset my ps2. It may be because my AR Max is an old verstion but I wanted to ask you people before I risk it by getting another one.

It's probaly a mod-chip problem, try this:
-Start up AR MAX
-Choose the first option (something like "expert")
-Manually select a game and the codes
-Press start
-Now, insert the disc and play it

Thats what Ive always being doing.

EDIT: And If I put in a game instead of going into the advance section and that. I get the message. "Action replay max cannot read this disk" (Or similar cant remember exactly)

I saw somewhere that you cannot burn this backup 100 % right. Im not certainly sure, but if so, try to download a new one.

it may just be that your modchip doesn't support the AR Max cheat disc. Modbo is only a cheap clone chip so it may not.

Hmm so if I use the original and then a copyed cd will it work. (Or vice versa)

After some pondering I thought of a possibility.

What If I were to use lets say a copyed version of Swap Magic? Would that be able to somehow work the Action Replay?

Swap Magic users will tell you that using it with a cheat disc is a pain in the butt, that is if you get it to work at all.

With a mod chip that supports AR Max it would be no different then when using it on an unmodded system. Like with my chip.
I just put in AR Max, go to expert mode, choose the game and codes i want, then chosse to load game with codes, then when it asks for a disc i stick in my back up and it loads with cheats.

I have not used it in a while as the DMS4 Pro also has a built in cheat system. You have to convert codes to raw format but the advantage is that you can convert AR Max, Codebreaker, or Gameshark codes.
