Hi Guys and Gals, iam a newbie and like to say hi to all on this forum and wondering if anyone can help
I have a Nokia Dbox2 working great for over 18months now (freezes now and then but just unplug and all ok). I can record to my video and everything is ok.
I have tried several times to try and hook it upto my aerial switch box so i can watch cable channels anywhere in my house (my previous N*L Pace box worked like this without any problems), but for some reason no cable channels are outputed through the RF aerial out and only transmitted through the scart?
Does this box and other similar boxes have two separate tuners, one for the digital cable side and one for the aerial side? while the old N*L pace boxes have two integrated tuners making it possible to output cable channels through the RF out?
Or better still will the Starview/Dreambox 500C do what i want
If iam wrong then pls correct me have tried a few times but get no cable channels at all through the RF out?

The dbox2s and dreambox 500c both dont have RF tuners they are designed for scart output only.

I dont know about the Starview boxes m8, never had one. The Dreambox 500C is really nice though same its not got an RF out would be handy for second tv output.

I have just tested the Starview box (mate had just purchased one)and it outputs cable channels through the RF out, so works for what i want it for...looks like a freeviewbox and not a normal cable box...
Has two scarts, TV aerial input and output, cable input and output, also has digital audio out......

I managed to send a signal to other TV's via RF by going through the output of my VCR. Hook the scart to the VCR and the pic output should be sent out of the RF port of the VCR.

Dbox is much better and can do more than the Starview, the best one to get is the Dreambox but not from "Kevin" on Ebay @ £119 as they are fakes.

Thanks mate
What I meant was can you get all the same channels because I am interested in the RF out sending channels upstairs which the dbox cant do.Tried going through the DVD recorder but still no joy.Just wondered how good they were compaired to dbox channels.

Yes you will get the same channels but not in the same way as the Dbox. You may have to spend a long time sorting them and renaming them as they do not always have the channel name, more likely D20. N1, O2 etc. Why not stick one of these on the Dbox to send RF to your other set.

Hi Mate
First of all I would like to thank you very much for the help I received from you with the commando6 image flashed it last night works a treat all channels received very happy much appreciated.
About the scart to coax.Just to be sure are you saying that I can use the spare scart socket on the dbox to plug into this box, then plug the coax cable that goes up into the booster distributor upstairs and that will distribute channels around the rest of the house. Is this right or have I got it round my rear end.
