Hi everyone. I have purchased a dbox2, sagem make. It came with sportster pre-installed. I 've connected it via a splitter. So I have ntl cable modem and dbox off of the feed. I get a black screen and the EPG displayed with over 220 channels listed. However I get the message 'Error channel not available' and a black screen. Can anyone please help me. The person I purchased it from is on holiday, so I'm left with no way of knowing what I'm meant to do next. I've tried to look at various sites but talk of broquets and images and codes and scans and this and that has left me spinning! Thanks for any help.

All you have to do is scan for channels. The channels listed are probably from a bouquet.xml and services.xml of a different area, that is why you get the error "channel not available". There are many guides available, some of which can be downloaded here: http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/Dbox2.rar.exe

as benifa stated do another full scan with fast scan off and see if it works, if not flash another image onto the box.

Hi thanks for your replys. I have tried a scan but still nothing. How do I flash a new image onto it. I have a cross over cable but no FTP software, where can I get a FTP program and how do I use it. DO I need to back anything up before putting a new image on. Sorry for the beginner questions, but I've never used a dbox or FTP before.
Thanks.

dont do that yet that is a last resort changing the img first of you need to select the correct cable provider under sevice scan for ntl i think it is 6887 then change fast scan to off then start the scan (45min can be )once complete reboot and hey presto that should be that. if you want to change other stuff give me a email.

That should be that also it is best to disable the backgroud scan if you have that option.
you only need to do a new scan if you are looking for new channels.
BUT as allways the sagem is inferer to the nokia box ,the tuner on the sagem isnt the best.
I have both types and all my troubles have been with the sagem i havent had to touch the nokia since i did my first scan.

i like the nokia dbox2 dont no much about starview but cant go wrong at the mo with a nokia dbox2 try and get one with 2xchips wich most are.but bewear there arent many more out there so prices are rising and all dboxs are second hand as no new ones have been made for years so they are reconed.

Hi everyone, i have the same problem as 2xobd (i also have a Sagem dbox 2), my first plan of action is to switch off the fast scan and do a new scan, however I was hoping somebody will be able to tell settings for my cable provider which is 'Telewest'???

I will greatly appreciate any help.......
