I have a PS2 in conjuction with the Magic Keys 2. I struggled to place the 3rd key, as have many. I replaced the 3rd key with some tape and has worked 100% since. But with some of the hot weather we have been having it seems that the tape has un-peald from holding down the switch.

In a stupid stupid attempt to keep the switch down i tryed to super glue it down. BAD IDEA! It seems that the switch does not function what so ever anymore.
Nothing happens with the lid up or down...

Does anyone have any ideas on my next move....

I am contemplating replacing the switch with just wire so that it is as if the switch is always depressed.
Could this work?
If so directions and such would be great..

Thanks

Your wire idea should work but you can just solder the to parts together they are very close.

Info on how to get a free PS3 360 and Wii at.

Before i make my next move, i need to ensure that this is my problem.

I have a cd in the PS2, i turn it on and the cd will not spin with door open or shut. I beleave that the switch is stuck on permently open.
1. Could something else be my problem?
2. Is there any way to check that this is defently my problem?

The picture below shows the switch in question, but i need help working out which parts to solder the wire between to make the PS2 think that the door is always closed.

Also what would be the best approach removing the switch?

Just so that you have your bearings, this Picture is showing the center rear of the console with the center back screw (the void screw) showing just to the right of the switch

Try with a wire...If it doesn't fix the problem, you can always take the wire out.

Problem Solved.

I placed a small wire between the 2 most forward termanals (in the picture), and then the laser kicked in as if the lid was closed.
Am i ever glad i was able to fix that! It was my sisters christmas present last year. So i would had to have folkd out couple hundred to replace it.

Thanks
