U Should burn 0800.iso and run that disk in ur drive before you read or write the firmware from ur 360 drive. You can find 0800.iso previous firmwares extremes e.g 4.0 or 4.2 search google.Your problem seems Firmware guard on ur drive.

Please Read this:

Flashing your drive
---------------------------
Advisable to make a backup of your dvd drive firmware first.("mtkflash r /m orig.bin")

In Windows, copy orig.bin to same directory as this release (same directory as ReadMe.txt and X360SAM.exe)

Double click "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd" and follow the prompts. Thanks to eXOBeX for X360SAM.EXE

Copy x52x.bin to boot disk where x is a,b,c or d.

Power off PC

Plug SATA cable from DVD drive to PC. Power cable drive still connected to Xbox 360
Power on Xbox 360
Power on PC
Boot with standard dos boot disk with included mtkflash utility

Run "mtkflash w /m x52x.bin.bin" where x is a,b,c or d.

Flashing your drive with Xtreme4.x or above firmware installed
----------------------------------------------------------

Plug SATA cable from DVD drive to PC. Power cable drive still connected to Xbox 360

Power on PC

Boot with standard dos boot disk with included mtkflash utility to dos

Power on Xbox 360

Insert Enable0800 disc into drive and wait 10 seconds then eject disc

Run mtkflash as per normal.

I just did this the other day on an ms25 using a via sata card. I used xtreme bootmaker to make a mtkflash compatable boot disk. Then disregarded all the files it added to the disk.

Booted into dos and typed mtkflash r /m orig.bin it went through three or four 100% cycles and afterwards the orig.bin was intact and saved.

I then flashed an unpatched firmware onto my drive that was a pain to reflash

Hex edit a virgin xtreme5.1a bin with you dvd drive key, save onto your flash stick, boot into dos, type mtkflash w /m mybin.bin and your ready to play backups.

thankz for getting back,i tried another way using this method http://www.clevermod.com/index.php?article=10
booted up in dos and typed mtkflash r/m backup.bin
went through 100% a few times then said reboot
cut off 360 then unpluged sata
i opened hex editor, opened backup.bin but my numbers start at 401a and end at 4218 is that ok?

if you are refering to my post the name of the bin is the name of the file mtkflash will save the bin as. you can save your original bin as any name you like just by changing the file name it will extract to.

The same goes for uploading. whatever file name you put at the end of the command is the bin mtkflash will upload. if you saved your key edited mtkflash bin as modified.bin the command would be mtkflash w /m modified.bin whereas if you saved your bin as xtreme51edit.bin the command to upload the file would be mtkflash w /m xtreme51edit.bin . Its pretty versitile in its simplicity.

Sorry didnt read your question right. The first check would be if the bin file is 256k in size. If its the right size that command looks like it may have worked for you. I would copy the file off you disk and try the mtkflash r /m orig.bin command if it works for you and compare the keys. If it extracted a 256 file the key should be on there. I completely messed up my drive for about 5 hours by uploading an unpatched firmware on accident. Thankfully I extracted the key correctly on the first shot and was able to reflash correctly. Good luck
