hi guys, i own a xbox 360 and i ve been trying to connect to my pc so i can share media from my pc to the xbox but with no luck. i dont have windows media center on my pc but i've been trying with zune software and windows media player 11 where you should be able to do it with. my xbox does connect to my wireless modem with no problem (except if i put on a security key on but thats another problem) but it cannot connect to my pc. i've installed WMP 11 and there u can check an option with "share media" but when i do that and press ok my computer comes back to the same box with ok and cancel, it will not accept ok so i can only cancel if i want to close the box. i'm not sure what i am doing wrong here so if someone could help that would be great. do i need to make a special network between the xbox and my pc? i mean the fact that it connects to my wireless modem means its already on my network right?? i've also been messing about with zune software (which is quite a cool program btw) but didnt get any further with that.
pffff well i m not out of the woods yet! i deleted zune to install windows media player 11 again, just to check if they were interfering with each other maybe and now i cant reinstall it (dammit!!!) after a certain percentage it says an error occured and i should close all applications and try again; which i did but with the same result.
but anywayzz, yes i have tried to turn off my firewall and my antivirus. and i am not sure what u mean if i can see the xbox in media sharing cause i cant even tick the option with share media (in WMP 11), it wont accept it.

ok guys, here's an update of the situation. finally got to reinstall zune software (there was a problem with computer recognizing me as the user or whatever; check this link if u have the same problem http://www.zuneportal.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34.its in dutch but follow the path from klik start and where it says "piet" type in your pc username (name you get when you start your computer), helped for me (and type in all the characters as put dont forget and spaces!!!). ANYWAYZZ, i ran zune after installing it, went to options, library, media sharing; then i get a message saying: media sharing is disabled, either cause of sharing services not running or firewall. press ok get into zune media sharing and there i cannot find my xbox 360, and i cannot choose to share with all xbox360's. i did this while my firewall and antivirus were both off.
so, as you all already know... i thank you for any suggestions......
u know what, about that link, if u dont speak dutch u probably wont understand any of it. if u want to try it just post it in this thread and i ll translate it for u guys, its quite short.

no no luck with MP either. oh and i did install it, both zune and MP 11. MP doesnt accept me chosing to share media, and neither does zune actually. in MP if i tick share media option and press ok, it 'll just think for a few seconds then the same option window will come back and i can only do cancel to close the window. with zune i can chose to share with all 360's but if i click ok and come back again it won't have changed anything, and i cant see my xbox in the window. so... there u have it.
both my antivirus and firewall are disabled, my xbox is connected to my wireless modem, so thats ok too....
