Here's a rundown of my Home Network

Main Computer (Upstairs) - Connected to Wireless Netgear Router (Main Internet Line Connects here) The Router is next to the PC.

Laptop Computer (Downstairs) - Wireless - Networked with "Main Computer" and using the "Main Computers" Internet via Wireless.

Now I have been trying to Connect the Playstation 2 to the Laptop with no luck, turns out I have the wrong cable, so I get a CAT5 Crossover Cable, and still no luck, the Playstation 2 is downstairs in the same room as the Laptop. I had a long cable that I threw downstairs and Hooked upto the PS2 from the Router and it works fine. But my misses says its dangerous and people keep clotheslining themselves on it.........

I used this following text taken from a Tutorial on how to do this, and I just cant get it working. In Network Connections it shows as being connected to the PS2, but when I try the Network Disc on the PS2 to connect, it shows a message on the Laptop saying Network Cable Unplugged, why is it disconnecting when it should be doing the opposite? anyways.........the guide says this........

=========================================

1. make sure your laptop can access the internet at the location you want to use your PS2.

2. Connect your PS2 and PC using the network cable, turn on the PS2 and insert the Network Access disk.

3. go to your Network Properties page. (press the Start menu, right click My Network Places, and select

What you need to do is bridge the Wireless connection and the Local Area connection. Select both connections and right click one of them. select "Bridge connections" from the drop down box.

To check if your new combined network is working correctly, try accessing the internet on your laptop. If it works, all should be fine, and you can set up your PS2 to connect using your Network Access disc. if you have already set it up previously (by moving your PS2 or dragging long cables), you should have no problem just connecting and playing your games online.

If it did not work, make sure your PC's network settings are still correct for you to access the internet on the bridge. (You will have to use the Network Bridge to set TCP/IP settings etc. as the two network cards have effectively been combined as one, and use the same IP address and settings.

Any Ideas whats making my PS2 not do what his is?
