anyways.
Yeah.. i may be labelled a Newbie under the Afterdawn Forums.
but.. im not
im still having problems... with people on this damn PSP fourm!
no one can answer any questions about my PSP, because i guess it seems to be to different?
im sorry if im being rather blunt, and i don;t mean to offend.. but im getting rather pissed off
Yeah, maybe most of the world has a TA-082 motherboard.. or what ever it is that all the forums are about
but what about us guys who have the different one?
It starts out here.
the Details of my PSP
When i open up the Rear UMD slot, and read the alpha/numaric code in copper color lettering, i get 2 sets to read from, on from the LEFT hand side, and one from the RIGHT hand side.
now im repeating my self on this.. but, in a forum i posted.. musta been at least a month back, someone told me i had a TA-086 motherboard
the alpha/numaric set is as follows
LEFT SIDE RIGHT SIDE
ICB001 IC1003
I had previously installed DevHook o.4x? With HENC Revision
and i am to this date, am running 2.71 FW (NOT 2.71 SEC-B or w/e it is)
I had run many ISO games on my psp
some including,
Need for speed carbon
F1 Grandprix
whipeout Pure
Tonyhawks underground remix 2
Twisted Metal Head on
While none of these games asked me i needed to upgrade, i had a flaw that made me wanna upgrade to devhook 0.51 with HEND revision
a week ago, i was showing a friend how i got homebrew games and stuff on my psp
i turned it on (and i currently had my Need For Speed Cabron.iso on my memory stick)
i ran HENC liek i normally would, and had been for the past month, and ran dev hook, and loaded NFSC,
but at this time..somehting weird had happend.. and..made no sence to me at all
once i pressed start in dev hook, the screen turned black..like it normally would, but a blue screen came up.
this blue screen looked very awkward.. specially when ur normally used to a red anime screen comming up, and then playing ur ISO file. The screen had 12 different languages on it. and the english one said
"System settings are corrupted, press O to restore defult settings"
and then when u press O the memory loads franticaly (by that u mean the little orange lite blinks constantly) then ... it restarts the psp, and ur at the spot where u setup ur System settings.. (ie, PSP nickname, time zone etc..)
so, what i really want to knwo is.. first off: WHY THE FUCK DID THIS HAPPEN!?

so i reinstaled Dev Hook completly.. like everything... formated the memorystick reloaded my .iso etc.
no luck same thing
so i deicded to use the new 0.51 devhook with Homebrew enabler Revision D
everything worked up to a certin point.. where the blue screen came up
altho some weird did happen.. after i clicked O in the settings of the blue screen, it reloaded the psp, in 3.02 FW, with the camara settings..all the goodies.. but it still wouldn't load a .iso file
once i restarted it, and tried it again.. blue screen with different languages.. etc.. no dice.. no 3.02 no nothing,. just plan old 2.71.
...im asking ANYONE!? Newb, pro, God/Goddess, anyone who has any idea on wth happend.. please.. help me !
now by starting this thread.. i wan't only people with problems such as mine,. and people with TA-086 Mobo's to post. no TA-082 bullshit? kay! theres a MILLION other threads for TA-082... bugger off and go read em!
hope someone wise reads this.. as .. i really wanna know whats going on.

PSP -> 2.60 TA-082 + 2.71 - 1.5 + 3.03 OE-A + OE-B + OE-C + 3.52 M33 - 3.40 OE-A + 3.52 M33-4 + 3.71 M33-4 + 4.01 M33-2 w/ 1.50 k = dropped 1ft and lost my PSP permanently

Uhmm dude, you don't have a ta-086, I have the two sets aswell, it's ta-082. And that blue screen you're getting is because something went wrong I guess, I don't know why it would happen in devhook, usually it happens when something goes wrong when flashing.
But anyways, so you're still at 2.71 right? Use the 2.71 ta-082 downgrader and get yourself to 1.5, then go upgrade to 3.03 OE-A, so you won't need to use devhook anymore.
Ta-082 2.6 > 2.71 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 2.8 > Brick > 2.6
> 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.71 M33 > 3.80 M33 > 3.90 M33-3 > 4.01 M33-2

yeah, i'm in the same boat in terms of mobo markings. its a ta-082
just downgrade and get to 3.03oe. soooo worth it to never mess with devhook again.

you are completly NOOB ta-086 (2.80+) doesn't come out with fw 2.71!!!!!!!!!!!its a ta-082 i confirmd that ....

No, gta was used awhile back on firmware 2.6 to get to the eloader. For firmware 2.71, hend is used. :P
Yes, downgrading does involve flashing. But if you do everything right, nothing should go wrong. If you don't feel like taking the risk, then don't do it. You can already play iso's and most homebrew using devhook, downgrading will just allow you to do all that without the hassle of hend + devhook. :P
Ta-082 2.6 > 2.71 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 2.8 > Brick > 2.6
> 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.71 M33 > 3.80 M33 > 3.90 M33-3 > 4.01 M33-2

DjCHemist..go to google and type in ..downgrader for ta-082 2.71.. check for either psphacks.com or pspupdates..and then you downgrade it (I prefer you use the easy install)..and then after that you go back to google and type in 3.03 OE-A download and then download it read the readme inside it and there you go!!
BTW If you read the instructions step by step then you wont brick..100%

i have downgraded all 3 of my psps - two of which were ta-082's. dont be scared, if you can read and follow directions, you'll be fine

yeah i got the downgrade, and all ... 3.03 OE-A.. yay ^_^
... altho.. my psp takes a while to load now..like start up is delayed by about 3 seconds..not that i care.. but..
my ISO games freeze now tho... they never used to before
and... how does one set the clock speed for certian games now :S does it automatically pick up? cuz..i used to set NFSC to 333/166 mhz, and it ran beautifuly
now it runs a bit laggier,
and one more question.. how do i get a SNES emulator to work?
with Devhook, and 1.5, i used SNES9xtylme or w/e it was called
when i put the exact same folder in the game file on ms0:/, and played it threw the XMB, it just gave me a file error.. is there a special one to download for it to work on 3.03. thanks :)
