Simple question. I have a brand new psp with the latest psp update 3.03. Can I play ISO game files and how do I do this ? Thanks.

If you mean official 3.03 then no, you can't play ISO game files.

The "unofficial" version is 3.03OE. If you have 3.03OE you put ISOs in a folder you make named ISO in the root of the memory card. Judging by the fact you said that you have a new PSP, you can't upgrade from 3.03 to 3.03OE. You'll just have to see in the future if theres a downgrader to downgrade you to 1.50 then upgrade to 3.03OE.

hi i have the same proble i got a psp with ta-082 fw 2.6 and i updatedto 3.03 i read that there is a downgrader for ta-082 but you need fw 2.71 so is there a way to downgrade from 3.03 to 2.71 and then to 1.50 or can you just update to 3.03oe

dude there is no downgrader for 2.81 - 3.03 so dont ask!if u r between 2.81 - 3.03 then u r stuck for a quiet long time!!!guys with 2.81 and up dont have any exploite to run any homebrew stuff like custom fireware,homebrew games,soo on...

Why do you people keep telling him he cant downgrade? He asked for more info on the unofficial 3.03.

WierdName-man u said it right but u could have helped him too but u didnt anyways i think i'll elaborate the custom fireware(guys who know more abt cf plse correct me or say wat i missed!)
3.03OE-A` :- 1.its custom fireware so u can only update it from 1.5/2.71se/3.02oe....
2.it dont need devhook to emulate iso or cso!!!but still cant play dax though!
the iso/cso s game in ISO folder will show in the memory stick of the game menu in xmb and playable!(no umd option dont work with all the games so u need and umd inside)
3.u can play almost 99% of fw1.5 homebrews!!!
4.u can add plugins to it!
5.u can recover partially bricked psp from this fireware!
6.u can go back to any fireware from this cf to 2.71 - 1.5(any)!
soo on....i dont remember any more plse guys add wat i missed in the list!!!

You can launch ISOs/CSOs directly from the game->memorystick menu.

junk dude every time i put isos in iso folder i go to game in xmb and it shows corrupted data. i have 3.03oe-a2. is there any way you can give a tut. what settings have to be in recovery menu and such? thank you when u put in isos can u have sysdir and usrdir folders in it or do u have to extract them? u dont need fastloader or umd emulator with this fw? it loads the boot and eboot w/o being pbp

Read the post directly above yours. He says "I have 3.03OE-a2".
As far as it saying corrupt data, I dont know. Are you only using one ISO? If so it could be that that ISO actually is corrupt. I have 3.02OE-B and I havent had a problem yet with it. Sorry I cant help much more but I dont have a clue what could be causing that.

try using another iso!
u dont need to do any setting for playing iso nighter u have to extract the iso!!just put the .iso(like gtalcs.iso or so on) file in the iso folder in one piece!!!if the Game shows corrucpted in game>memorystick menu the iso mayn be damaged!!!

so if its corrupted it means that what, the iso file was not completely copied over, or wut! does this happen with all of the iso file PSP games/?? oh and can u if u have a 3.03v format and reset the PSP to have its default settings back to 1.5v????

dude wat i said was all for the custom fireware 3.03OE(OE-open edition),not for official 3.03 fireware!!!u cant play ISOs in 3.03 fireware!!!nighter u can downgrade to 1.5(3.03OE can only be installed in 1.5/2.71SE/3.02OE fireware)!!!sorry for u!!

yeah, I think your right junkdude. I tried a 3 or 4 and there all corrupted. Put a killzone liberation demo .cso file in and it works fine. You dont have a known good one by you that you can post or pm me? I know u put gamename.iso in folder, not sysdir, usrdir, param sfo., pic, icon, and so on. Thats whats in gamename.iso. Usually u have gamename.iso and umd data bin 2gether. does umd data bin go in iso folder or in gamename.iso or nowhere. Thanks for post above about reassuring me .iso is probably bad, atleast nothings wrong w/ my 3.03oe-a. Also there's a 3.03oe-b out now.

only the iso will do!
all the isos/csos i ever played untill now worked>gts:lcs.iso(.cso work but stucks like pain in the ass)
,MidnightClubDubEdition.iso/.cso,NFS:MW.iso/.cso,vertualtennis.cso,

why is this thread so long? 3.03 has no downgrader period...
there should be a sticky that says "DOWNGRADER FOR EVERYONE FROM 2.81and UP" so that everyone will b like oooo shiny and click on it..and inside the post should b like "THERE ISNT ONE SO STOP MAKING ANOTHER POST ABOUT IT"
