i may sound like a dumbass but i connected my dell e1505 to my tv with an s-video cord. i figured the tv would work as my monitor if i changed the input to video 1 but it shows black. is there a key or program i need to use my tv as a monitor for my laptop?

I have similar problem. I hook my toshiba laptop to my TV (s-video cable) and get nada! I have access to TV channels from the i-net I want to watch on my TV, how do I do this?
