2.80 downgrade?

Im wanting to downgrade my 2.80 psp but havnt yet plucked up the courage...i know their is an easy 2.80 - 1.50 downgrader doing the rounds but by the looks of things it seems to be pretty unstable with many people reporting bricks. But on the other hand people are shouting success.

Should i wait for a more stable version or suck it up and downgrade using this downgrader?

If anyone has used this downgrader, on a scale of 1 - 5, with 1 being go for it, how would you rate the downgrader?
