i got an xbox 360 for christmas and activated the one month free gold trial. i connected to xbox live using a patch cable from my xbox 360 to my router and it worked fine. My xbox was playing up so i got a replacement and now with the new xbox i can't connect to xbox live so i can't migrate my account or gamertag. i am using the same way to connect with this xbox but it is not working.

p.s when i go to troubleshoot it fails the DNS test.

to do that you have to connect to xbox live and that is not working

i had a similar problem like that...i switched off the router for 5 mins, switched it back on, re-set the DNS server and it worked!

Goto System>Network Settings and edit the DNS server.
