hi, i just bought a 360 premium today, but after reading and hearing the stories of it gets me alittle nervous and scared, should i open my system or return it? not sure what to do, or maybe go back to the store and buy their 2 year warranty for $60 ?

nah, just open it and flash your firmware. It's easy! Don't worry. Just take your time.
Don't buy the 2 yr warranty => waste of money!

do you think they have fixed all those problems people been having, and any way to tell what generation is your counsel ? mine came with a free game inside the Need for Speed Most Wanted,

If you were so worried about the problems, why did you buy it in the first place?
The vast majority of those problems you are talking about were from the launch, which was over a year ago. There are very few problems now.

I never buy those warranties, seem like a waste of money to me, but that's just me. Also, you don't have to flash your 360 if you're not planning on playing backups.

don't buy any extened electronic warrenty. they are scams. If any electronic works in 1st 2 weeks or so then it's probabaly gonna be good in it's life time.
and flash your drive before 30days store return policy is up so you can return it if you mess up.

lol at all of you, I think this guy is talking about opening the actual box that it came in not the console itself, and flashing, he just want's to know if he should open the box itself and play it before he buy's the warranty. in which I agree with other's open it and play the hell out of some retail games for the first month, then if you want more come back here.
but know don't buy the extended.

well my cuz 360 started shading in all his games green and red then just stoped working,no visual , but we found out it had a free 1 year warenty, so we sent it somwere the otherday , i think it over heated , so if they cant fix it he will get anthor 1 free : )

Did M$ not extend all new consoles warranty to 1 year in the US?
Why the hell did they only give a 3 month warranty to start with anyway? Its like they knew there was going to be problems with the console....

yea so have a look at the bloody thread,the person that made it wonts to no what we would do ,buy a 2 year warenty or not,i said that ive had an experiance with 1 breaking before so i would buy the warenty,all your doing is going around be a fucking dick head puting gay little comments every were , my cuz xbox broke so he sent it back, and you said of corse they fixed it,well wot about if he hadnt paid for the extended warenty then they wouldnt have fixed it , fuk ur a wanker emachine
