Hello, I just read the threads about how to recognize a fake. I recently bought a 2GB Hi speed (sony ?) on ebay (what an error it was...). Although I read all of this documentation, I'm still not sure if my new 2GB ms is genuine. Almost everything tells me that it is fake : I bought it for 1? (approximately one buck), the transfer speed are very low (writing speed 2.7 MB/S and reading speed 8.1 MB/S). There is also a serial number at the back : L406L1L, which I am not sure it is real or not. Thanks for the answers.

Well the writing speed is way too low and I've heard that a fake has a reduced lifetime compared toa a real one. :S

Some fakes are known to have issues, so it would be better for me to get a genuine one if this one is really a fake. I should have thought twice about it (comes from HK and for a buck)...

READ the posts people are telling you. So what if it is fake. The only thing different about fake memory cards is the writing speed. You bought a 2gb memory card for a dollar and now your questing that. Um....Hello... 2gb memory cards are sold for like $80. Why are you complaining you saved $79.
End of discussion, you shouldn't be complaining

Are there any serious online shops then ? By serious I mean places (except 'normal' shops) where I can get genuine ones.
