ps2 wont play gran turismo 4

when I put in the gran turismo 4 disk it won't spin, I've rented several different copies even borrowed one from a friend, it's only gran turismo 4 everything else plays fine, it keeps making a clicking sound. when the gt4 disc is in and I try to turn off the ps2 it won't until i open the lid and when I start the ps2 with gt4 in it won't start up, WHAT IS GOING ON!!! i'm so confused

Yes, when it makes a clicking sound, it will not play. Problaly your disc is damaged or fihlty. Try cleaining your disc.

I bought it brand new, also tried the cleaning idea with the other disks and got nothing

Does it play other PS2 DVD games? If not, try adjusting or cleaning your laser.
