hi guys,

well i just upgraded from 1.5fw to this 3.03 oe-a custom Fw but... i have just been reading that this fw is bricking a lot of psp and that many hombrews are not working, is this true? shall i update to 3.03 oe-a2? or just downgrade to 3.02?

By the way, can you just downgrade back again to 1.5fw? i guess you can with the 1.5 pbp, right?

thanks

You can overclock your CPU with OE-A2, if thats important to you. Also it fixes a few bugs.

Its the process of upgrading that causes the bricking. You've already upgraded to 3.03OEA so whats the problem.

If its up and running then it won't brick. Why would you want to downgrade again.

I am ready to use my new 4GB memory stick on my PSP. If I take out my current memory out what do you guys suggest is the easiest way to upgrade to 3.03OE-A/B to my new memory stick. I have an original 1.5 PSP. Previosuly I updated my stick to devhook 5.1 3.02, but again I am ready to use a new one. Suggestions? Thanks.

Doesn't devhook .51 flash some files to the PSP ?

I think you would need to unflash these first before you install 3.03OEA

Never used devhook .51 myself so not sure, no doubt someone will be along to confirm or deny this.

If I recall well, I did have to flash the PSP on devhook. So I have to unflash it now? Anyone knows a good link for a direct upgrade from 1.5 to 3.03 OE/A? Step by step if possible. What happened to eternalis'own page?

Once you are back at a standard 1.5fw you can use the easy installer:

Thanks ggbarnum, but are you supposed to be plugged into your PC when using this easy installer? When I unzipped the file to check the contents, it just won't open.

Yes, you should have your PSP connected.

When you run it, it should unpack and start the installer when it will ask you which drive letter your PSP is on to transfer the files for the upgrade.

If there is a problem, it could be because you do not have .net framework V2 installed on your PC, this is required to run the easy installer. You can download it from microsoft just google it to get the link.

OK, we'll do. So you recommend to unflash my PSP first, before I put on my new memory stick, correct? And after all is said and done, just create a an ISO folder into the root of the PSP? Thanks.

Yes, remove devhook and go back to a clean 1.5 before running the easy installer.

The easy installer will create all the folders you need for you. Remember to tick the "install recovery folder" option too.

Hmmm, I thought I could unflash my PSP by using devhook. Yet that option is not there, and I know you haven't used devhook ggbarnum.
I tried holding down R button while starting the PSP and no feature to unflash it either. Sorry for the silly question but how would U do it? I have a new 4GB stick and of course 't I don't want to mess it up, therefore my cautiosness.

Devhook 0.46 doesn't flash any files, it runs purely from the memory stick.

You don't.

Don't get confused. He was talking about devhook 0.46. You were talking about devhook 0.51. They are 2 completely different things.
