Question regarding 1.5 firmware and madden 07 UMD

This is prob a noob question, however, I just got a PSP from my local EBGames, and its a 1.5 firmware version. I also purchased madden 07, however its asking me to upgrade to 2.71 so I can play it. Is there anyway to not upgrade and be able to use these games on a UMD, such as playing madden 07 on a 1.5?

Madden 07 will work after you upgraded...
