OK, either I am just a dumb blonde or I seriously need help. When using DvdShrink, It works FINE when processing. I burn using Nero and IT works fine...but when I play the dvd on my player, it works fine until the last few chapters! The audio starts skipping in/out, and the picture gets real pixelated and skips also. Any advice?????

I'm having the same problem.... my guess is that we are running the compression too high

What brand media are you using? If it is generic the edges of the discs are crappy and will skip. I had the same problem with Princo discs. I switched to TDK and had no problems since.

Have you ever heard of "GQ" (Great Quality) DVD's? Are they any good?

Nope, they probably arent that good. Yuo will find the common problems with cheap media are either at the inner part of the disc or right at the outer part. Use RITEK Grade A for guaranteed success (Virtually)

I'm using Verbatim DVD-Rs. I've never had a prob with them until I tried DVDShrink. I dont THINK they're bad quality since Ive never had a problem till now....but that could also just be me. Thanks for everyone's input!

are they the datalife or datalife plus ones? I've heard that the plain old datalife discs suck. If they are the datalife plus ones, it is a good disc. You could try to compress the movie a little more so you are not burning all the way to the edge of the disc.

Im afraid Datalife / Datawrite discs are far from good when compared to a grade A Ritek disc.

They are Datalife plus......Im down to my last two blanks anyway. Guess I'll be getting some more sometime soon. It's just that there's not a whole big selection here in town beside what's available at Best Buy, etc. Where can I get these Ritek dvds from?

tiggirl, if you are using a beta version other than beta 5 I'd suggest you update it.

There was a bug that could have been the cause of the problems you are experiencing, and it has now been fixed. ;)

I'd also suggest you register to the DVD Shrink official forums, and subscribe to the following thread. ;)

That will keep you updated.

I use TDK's ... there about two dollars a disc if you buy anything less than a hundred pack but I've never had one that would not play in my dvd player or anyone elses that I've tried them in.
