I just got newzbin pro as my newsreader and really confused of how this thing works. i dont wanna pay for any newservers. any advice would help alot

If your ISP doesn't offer a free news server then you are SOL. Even if they do offer one the ISP provided news server always pale in comparision to the pay ones. IMO Usenetserver is the best cheap deal one out there. They have 3 months of unlimited access for $40. If you want to be really cheap about it you can buy 3 days for $3. You should be able to DL at least 6 games in that period. Maybe more or less depending on your connection.

so if i chose the isp metod what do i do...

do i have that be my newserver and newsbin pro as my newsreader
the newsgroup im using is alt.binaries.games.xbox360 but when i go the newzbin.com it wont let me get the message id...

Like Memnock said. $3 for 3 days. You can't go wrong! That is what I always do.

do you know what the address is for your ISP's news server? Cuz you need to enter that and then possibly your account name and password. Also sometimes ISP's have limitations like mine has a 2GB/month limit. So it is pretty much useless to me. Also I use the program GrabIt and it is great and easy to use.

newsgroups are good if you can download the hole file if not you have to look around for the missing parts . for me I'm giving up i stick to torrents.; why because of the par2 files have not got a clue what to do with them bye

when you have imcomplete rar files you can use the par2 files to fix them ,when you are extracting the files and you get that WinRAR message "the file is corrupt ..." use a program called quickpar to scan\repair the rar files

done all that now its saying need 32 blocks i got 5 par2 voL0+1 to voL5+3 file and 5 WinRAR there is no more par2 file on the site to fill the blocks but its not just one of the files i download its all of them all ways missing files or blocks and slyck guild is no good to me just cant get my head round it. thanks for the help

hoddey, let's see if I can help. I don't know if you get your files by downloading headers or by using NZBs. I think it's easier to just download nzbs from sites such as nzbmatrix or newzbin because most of the time they already come with the par files. Then all you have to do is just download quickpar and before you even extract just double click one of the par files and it will automatically check if it needs to be repaired or not. The number that comes after the plus sign in the par files is the number of blocks it can fix. For example if it says you need 2 blocks then you would download the par that says volxxx+02.par2

^^^^^^^^Yep, that simple.....
Of all of the games I've downloaded(11) using NZB's, there was one package of rar files where some of them needed to be repaired by winrar's repair function.......so if extraction still doesn't work after you have scanned the rar files with quick par....try and use WinRAR to fix the individual .rar files that are reported damaged/corrupt.

Hi guys,
i've been using astraweb, 300G for $100 USD, but it's too expensive.
The best deal I found is newsbin: $19.99 US for the 1st month, unlimited downloads and 20 SSL connections! There is no catch that I can see of and there aren't any long term agreements.

What reader are you using? I know you can have a setting that it automatically sends the par files to a scratch folder instead of downloading them. If that's the case then just go to your "scratch" tab and download all the par files for that specific file
