i just recieved my sata card today....

im having trouble installing this card..its setup in my dell..but the manual tells me to press tab on the startup menu and when i did, nothing happened

i have no sata hard drives..just ide

am i supposed to attach the hard drives ide cable to the pci card?

well you might have to wait longer than an hour to get a response. everyone does not sit around hitting refresh all day long to see what threads have been started. but anyways, it should have came with a instal disc. put that in ur dvd-drive, and open up the folder that says like VIA or VT6241 and instal the driver for it. that should solve your problem. and no you do not have to have a HD hooked up to it. but you can use the IDE port for a dvd drive if you wish.

well i did wht u said and this came up:

went to the dvd-drive
Went to "Via"
..."SATA RAID VT6421"
ran "setup" then it tells me to run Platform
i ran platform and got an error

i fixed it...the card wasnt fixed all the way into the mobo...lol

is there a special driver for this to work for the 360 i ran mtkflash and it doesnt see the via pci card.any help will be appreciated.this is when i shut down the xbox for 10 seconds then pick the sata card to upgrade the firmware via vt6421 syba 150 r card.see,s it in window but not when i try to flash ms28 firmware
