kitty i know CloneDVD 2 isn't is as intensive on your CPU as DVD Shrink is but can't say that would solve your problem.if your had the program you would use it so it def. not a waste of money and they run specials on the program about everyother month so look for thoses

I have to think for a little while about how much my curiosity is worth? So far 78% no problems with AnyDVD uninstalled and cleaned off. I love this program I want it to work. I am posting to the forum you showed us too. This is becoming quite a thread! I very much appreciate you taking your time to help (and you too PacMan77), especially when it keeps DRAGGING ON like this. (Can you tell this is bumming me out?)

don't stress out sweetie we will keep after it and solve the problem OK!! so hang in there

I use a cooling pad on the laptop and my power is from the inverter. Very consistent pure sign wave power. I only do the rips when I am plugged in. Am I just f'in doomed??????????
lets hope not. but i sure wish you had a desktop machine lol. if "RipIt4Me is crashing and DVD Fab Decrypter also then it looks like CloneDVD 2 is our only hope left other then Intervideo DVD Copy 5

OK, I'll stop stressing. I hate not being able to solve things right away!! Thank you. I am thinking of rolling back the versions to one of the beta's that was working for me, whaddya think? Can I even still get them?

I did manage to get a log from AnyDVD ripper when it went ok onto my HD I just could not do anything with those files from there:

I wish you the best of luck, but I fear the problem is the PC and not the software..

@PacMan777 - Uh Oh...you can't just leave it at that! What do you think is wrong with it I'm not expecting detailed diagnostics, but... Like hardware, not enough memory, not enough juice, breakdown in system, she's breaking up captain??? Something ballpark if you have an idea. And...ant bully backed up just fine WTF...over?

Thanks PacMan777 hope you're having a good one.

@aabbccdd - Hey hope housecleaning was not a drag. Trying to scan disk now for errors. Will try new 6.1.1.4 with shrink in safe mode ripped to HD

Also FYI: Doing a scan of disk with VSO Inspector I keep getting alot of errors...like reading of sector failed ###### to ###### code: 00 00 00 No sense information. VTS_03_0.VOB failed as did VTS_02_1.VOB. The above mentioned was the only error listed. Is this encryption error or bad disk error. Could that many sectors, it is a grip!!!!!!!!! Be bad and still play and rip?

OK, done deal.

Pointers for all you out there!!!!!!!

AnyDVD updated it's update today 6.1.1.4 is working with Shrink and RipIt4me.

DVDFAB HAS CONFLICTS with AnyDVD! As does any DVDIdle product. I did not know this and was about to install again! But I must say AnyDVD 6.1.1.3 still crashed everything without dvdfabstuff.

Moral to the story...

If your AnyDVD latest update fails you in Shrink. (Or other encoders)

A. *******VERY IMPORTANT********Save your registry key to a safe place. anydvdkey is the file. Do a search for it.

B. Uninstall AnyDVD and the registry information.

C. Uninstall Shrink.

D. Run Reg Cleaner.

E. Reinstall Shrink

Now Ripit4me should work.

F. Wait for the next AnyDVD update and try again.

Normally when a PC keeps crashing with a number of different programs, it's an indicator something is happening with the hardware, either breaken up capn or not enough mojo to get the job done. I think you said all is well since you did a major cleanup. My well wishes worked and I'm glad I was wrong. LOL Would have answered sooner, but had to take a little road trip in the snow. The amount wasn't a problem, but it blowing in the headlihts was blinding.

Thanks PacMan, I am glad it is all working again too. Had me worried there for awhile. I can't just not find the answer! She can't be breaking up!

My kids call it hyperspace, waaa-hooo! Meh, waaa-hooo for them! Sometimes it can be blinding. I'd rather stay home and build sleds when it is actively blizzarding.

If it were not for you and aabbccdd I would have been mighty bent about this whole thing.

Thank you both for all of your help and good humor.
