i downloaded a long movie clip that will not rewind or fast forward. Is there any way to break up the clip into smaller files any help would be appreciated. why do some movie clips rewind and FF while others dont

You may just need to rekey the movie!
1. Open VDub
2. File --> Open --> Select the File, Check the "Popup Extended Open Options" --> Click Open
3. Check "Re-derive Key Frames"
Sit back and wait. :)
