it doesn't come out for a couple weeks yet so i doubt the burning software you have will work. being it hasn't updated for that title
only other one you didn't mention is "RipIt4Me" so you might give that one a try

lissarive-
RI4M will work! If you have the unrated version make sure that you have the latest update of FixVTS. If you do not it will not work properly.
AnyDVD, DVDFab, and DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD did not work.

@aabbccdd, "OPEN SEASON" has the same Arccos "PuppetLock" encryption as "SAW III" though these title have two different distributors. "SAW III" is a LionsGate release and "OPEN SEASON" is a SONY release. You need RipIt4Me for either back-up (Full Disc).

I agree with N2DVD. The first step before you can do anything is to get the file decrypted. RI4M is the only thing that worked with Saw III. I have not tried Open Season.

40 bad sector protections! Oh boy.... this definitely is going to be troublesome for newbies or those never used "RipIt4Me" before. I foresee tons of troubles coming, and again especially newbies. However, I'm not going to worry about, since I'm ready anytime. If DVDFab Decrypter can't do it, then I'll simply fire up RipIt4Me (got FixVTS 1.6.0.3 updated 6 days ago) and I'm ready to rip this baby (OPEN SEASON) when I acquired one.
Other suggestion is after the ripping process, have PgcEdit to do some editing or have VobBlanker to delete all useless menus (at least some), fake vts, bogus pgcs or cells and that'll bypass the "looping" issue.
This is going to be a quite challenge -- nonetheless, never give up. Happy burning and best of luck to all!!

@Alkohol, the same remedy applies for "OPEN SEASON" as "SAW III". Truthfully because of RipIt4Me these movies are simple back-ups. They appear to be troublesome because of the 40 bad sectors but this problem has been solved for some time now. I would guess that anyone having trouble with these titles after all of the info made available here in the past week at afterdawn, I would attribute this to severe but correctable user error. RipIt4Me/in wizard mode + DVD Decrypter + FixVTS & SHRINK 3.2 (If you choose) or CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3:P

I'm ripping OPEN SEASON (US, Region 1) via DVDFab Decrypter 3070 now while I'm typing this -- so far it's looking sweet. I'll be back with a mini guide as usual.
NOTE: DVDFab Decrypter 3072 is out, I've already downloaded it, but I just want to give 3070 a shot first.

ILHS86,
Just use the 1-Click Method on Ripit4Me and it will do the rest for you. Just did it and it works.

I made a full copy using CloneDVD by unchecking #29. Same sort of thing as with Saw 3, it tells you it's repairing bad structure, click on OK and it moves along just fine.
You'd think they'd (Slysoft) have this fix done by now, wouldn't you?
BTW, I did check the disc, all features seem to be functioning just fine.

ILHS86,
Remember that FixVTS had to clean up over 100+ bogus files plus re-write the ifo's as that is what took the time

Seems like AnyDVD with Shrink is having problems with this and the other dreaded S3R1, anyhow, this is what a the slysoft skinny is on it...
Anydvd 6.1.1.4 + Saw 3 R1 and Open Season will not work with Shrink
Those movies should work with Slysoft products (AnyDVD 6.1.1.4 + Clonecd and Clonedvd2).
They may also work with Nero Recode--but not Shrink.
If and when this changes, I will delete this ....
"The only way you can use AnyDVD along w/ Shrink is to insert VobBlanker or FixVTS after the rip and before you use Shrink. If you try it w/o one of those programs then you will get an error." --Carolina Mike
I know James (of Slysoft) is waiting for his Saw 3 R1 disc to arrive, and when he has some time he will hopefully address this issue.
In the meantime, this is a known issue (so complaining about it probably won't make a solution for AnyDVD fans who also happen to be DVD Shrink fans come any faster).
If Saw3 R1 is not working with AnyDVD 6.1.1.4 and Clonedvd2 or Clonecd, then chances are you have a bad original that needs
to be exchanged (even if the disc looks fine and plays fine, the disc can still suffer from quality control issues).
...dated 1/30/07 by Mod at Slysoft list Webslinger
Is this the experience of those here on AfterDark? one person claimed to do it on their list I am just curious.

kitty66 ,
Try this:
Rip the files to the HD using DVDDecrypter w/ AnyDVD( SlySoft Method)
After rip use VobBlanker( it will tell you it want to skip a file so just ignore it) Click on the right hand side Process All. Now on the bottom hit Process.
After processing the whole DVD plays in Shrink and it will burn to a DVD. The key is using VobBlanker and clicking on Process All.
I did this movie 5 different ways today using using DVDD,DVDFAB, Ripit4Me and AnyDVD and Had no failures. Hell I even did it w/ VobBlanker using AnyDVD. You can then use Recode, Shrink or whatever burning program you want to use. The only program I have not tried is PgcEdit and I am pretty sure that will even do it
