ok i just got a new psp
i love it
anyways i like to play some good old sega games with out losein my psp bowser i love to surf the web
so i heard there is a gta game i could use?
will it downgrade me? as i dont wish to i like to stay as 2.6 or update to 3(new)
how would i get my old sonic sega working?

no upgrade to the official 2.71 sony firware.
and use the ta-82 2.71 downgrader to downgrade to 1.5.
and then install 3.03 oeb custom firware

i dont think so mate, to be honest all the good things that can be done with a psp, is revolved around 1.5 :(, but you can downgrade to 1.5, upgrade to custom firmware, than you can have version 3.03 (current highest there is) and play your cool sega games and have the browser and a lot more

Well there is 1 other way. It does involve upgrading to 2.71 but once you are there you could use Hen-D. That will let you play most Homebrew.

make sure which motherboard you have if it is a new psp it's probably a ta-082 ,if it is a pink psp the motherboard is a ta-086

i guess ill downgrade to 1.5 then do that 3.03 oeb custom firware thing
so when i turn the psp on will it come up as 1.5 or 3.03oeb ?
just its a new psp and well i dont want to break it

Swords honestly dude I would not upgrade right at this moment. Give your self a day or 2 to read up on what you are doing first. Downgrading can be a tricky thing and inexperienced users can easily brick their psp's. So read up on the guides on this forum so you know 100% what you are doing.

i just bought a psp not too long ago and i have version 2.71. i also like to play old nintendo, snes, sega, etc. games on it. i also like to keep my internet browser as well as play umd games. is there a version that can upgrade to it. as i don't know much about psp, i would like to know if i can only upgrade and not downgrade. i heard the psp can brick if you miss read on an instruction. as i don't know much about electronics, i would like to know if i can upgrade to a newer version where i can keep the internet, play old games, and play umd games. yes, i'm a noob, so go easy on me and use terms i would understand. thanks guys.

let me get this right
if i 1.5 to 3.03oeb do i keep all the stuff my psp came with
images,music,play real games no iso and web etc

ok i got version 2.6 on my psp and i check its not TA-082 and not pink (my ds is lol)
ok so i ant got gta to downgrade so could i upgrade to 2.71 ?
how do i update to that version
then can i
2.71 Downdater Instructions using the easy downdater
to make it 1.5 ?
then can i put 3.03oeb on it
yes i want to do this now if i keep my web etc

i think that the custom firmware will let you do all that you want
to downgrade i cant help because i never downgraded any psp myself

Use the 2.71 Upgrade.rar to upgrade to 2.71. Simply create the following directory PSP/GAME/UPDATE and place the Eboot.pbp file in there. Then run the upgrade from your Memory Stick.
After that run the 2.71 Downgrader. Just follow the on screen instructions, its easy. Only thing with this downgrader is that it doesnt always work first time, but it does work (I have done about 10 PSPs with this one).
Once all the files are installed on your PSP you are meant to click on the Photo menu on your PSP and the screen shoud go RED. If it DOESNT then just turn the PSP off, back on and then try it again. Ive had to do it about 15 times for it to work before now.

sorry swordsg for interrupting your thread, but i figure i don't want to start another thread so i'll ask here. ok, so i have a psp with original version 2.71. where is the link or what do i do to downgrade it to version 1.5, then to version 3.03oeb. i too want to play old emulators and keep my internet browser. is 3.03oeb the best version for playing games on emulator and using the internet browser? can i still play original umd games on it because i just bought 2 games at the store. thanks guys.

Downgrader2.71FULL
its the full easy installer for you you must have 2.71
it will downgrade you to 1.5
aldo im not going to downgrade now i still like to help out
the other file look on google as well
