Question? I know there have been many posts on this topic but I still need help! I used Sonic's MyDvd to capture the Vhs and then used TMPGnc to encode to a burnable format. What should be done next? I have tried to burn and can't seem to get anywhere. I have Roxio Cd/DVD Creator along with Sonic software. Please help.....Thanks
Try using DVDEcho version 2.7 or EZDVD Combo design by the same manufacture. They have assembled several pieces of freeware tools in one bundle that would easily slove your problems. Also, Sony's Sonic MYDVD has a transcoder software tool built in that will do this for you for free. Are you having problems with the software identifying the mpeg? If so, let me know. You can also use VCD Easy or 321 studios DVD Copy Plus software that will also accomplish what you are trying to perform. Could you explain how this process works? I have a fairly good grasp of it, but would like another's explaination.
Hmmm. Be more specific on your phrase "would like to find the most efficient way to compile DVDs" Keyword "Compile"? is that several dvd's on one disk or VHS Moivies onto DVD-/+R Media?
Or are you refering to saving disc space? I.E..Split disc vs Compression disc. Clarify.
Thanks...I'm referring to best way to transfer VHS to DVD+R media and don't care about saving disk space. I'm able to capture the video fine in a mpeg format but would like to know the best way to then burn this *.mpg file to DVD+R. Please advise...
Ok, that would be DVD Echo's Job, or a free ware tool called Encoder using an Image tool called the Burner. 2nd would be VCD Easy software, 3rd would be Sonic MYDVD but the transcoder buffer tool requires a fast pc, nothing under the speed of a P4 2.4gig processor and the minimum 800FS Buss, or your looking at 2-3 hours for the software to complete itself, normally 2hours on a VHS that is 1 hour and 40 minutes in original length. 4th, DVD Copy plus 4.0 has 2 software tools that will allow you to transfer multiple Mpeg2s to your DVD+RW, Sonic Does this better but Copy plus does it faster. I am certain there are other software tools out now that can do it with better speed and ease. I will research it , but for now DVD Echo and Sonic Gold would be my choice.
Hi..Im having sort of the same problem. I use WinDVR to capture a DVD legal MPEG2 file and I use MyDVD to Make and burn the DVD. Doing it like this MyDVD doesnt have to transcode the video but it will not burn compressed audio so it must transcode the audio to PCM format. It only takes 30 minutes to do it this way.However.. Since it transcodes to audio to PCM I am only able to get about an Hour of VHS onto a DVD unless I lower the bitrate quite a bit. Does anyone know of a program similar to MyDVD but one that will burn a DVD using the compressed audio?
