open up a port for torrent, i downloaded torrent off of the internet and i want to download an ISO, but my downloads go crazy slow and it says my port is closed, does anyone no how to open it?
Sorry, I'm not a big fan of piracy and, thus, not very educated in the subject. The best advice I can give you is to leave your torrents on overnight.
Also, I might be able to be more help if you let us know which torrent software you are using, which port you are trying to open, and the make/model of your modem.
You have to go to your router's configuration page, and then from the "Applications & Gaming" tab (or something similar depending on the maker of your router, mine's Linksys), specify which ports you want open, and on which IP address.
For example: because mine is Linksys, I would enter the IP of my router's config page in my web browser (Opera!!) - 192.168.1.1 and from there I follow the steps above.

What I think is the easiest thing would be to get utorrent for your client then enable UPnP in the network part of preferences. Then enable UPnP on your router(if it permits/supports it).

k i clicked the Upnp thing that you told me to do, but it still says port closed so it dint do anything, is there a free program that can do it becuase i saw an add for one but it costed money.
Your not gonna get a program that will open your router ports for you. So whatever you saw, was probably a scam. Now, did you setup UPnP on your router too or just in the program?

You'll need to read the manual or online manual or something for your particular brand cuz I cant tell you how to do it without being able to look through it all myself.
