Modded Xbox + Xbox Live = Helppp ?

i bought a pre modded xbox360 and it has been working flawlessly, my friends are all on xbox live with there unmodded xbox's and so i want to go online... but ive been hearing that xbox live and modded consoles doesnt go, and when i go to set up an account, it says something about updating my system? i realy dont know waht to do, i have a samsung drive and rly want to go live... thanks

I was also headed over here to ask this question. Someone mentioned that you can brick your 360 somewhere, I wanted to verify this...?

do you know wat version your 360 drive is flashed with. if anything above v4 then its safe to go ahead.
and play on live is fine right now

yes mine is the latest, v5 at least... when i go do xbox live it says.. xbox live will now update ur system, if you click no u will be signed out... can i click yes to that now if i have v5?

What can microsoft do at the worst? ask for a firmware update that I can deny, or once I connect is it just going to go nuts and completely screw over the drive?

you can go online with a modded console. everyone that has a modded console is going online. a little bit of searching would have found you the answer in the same amount of time that it took you to write out the question however.

I also read that going on xbox live with modded firmware can brick your drive and I couldnt find anything on that further. I'd rather ask a couple of questions than throw away 450$ is all. Thanks for all the help

You're scaring me man, I have a Hitachi I think 59d, I forgot it's been awhile since I flashed it. Well I did it with the Birdy Friendly 2.2 with media fix one awhile back, am I alright? Thanks in advance.

Hi first im going to apologize cos im new to this stuf so I dont know much. Ok So You CAN go on Xbox Live with modded firmware? And they won't block you or anything? Can they even know if you have it?
Im just be as precautious as possible just in case they screw me over.
