I would just like to than Fekker. I read your simple instructions and managed to upgrade my box on the 1st attempt. It isn't the fact that your not explaining yourself. I think that it maybe the others being mentally lazy. Good work m8 and THANK YOU.

I've connected up the box and downloaded thefile from that site. When I unzip the link I have the loader a word file with instructions and another zip file that is identified as the bin file..However when I try to unzip that file it seems to be empty. I've tried using it without unzipping it but I just get the message the flash update has failed(or very similar). It's starting to get me down a bit as I'm not normally this crap.
If my analogue box could get SKY sports extra I'd give up.

This is how I did it
1.Downloaded file to desktop
2.Opened file using WinRAR
3.Copied the bin file starveiw_260... to desktop
4.Double clicked on GTRom v4.00.exe file
5.Click the bin file button on GTRom
6.Find the Bin File on desktop & click on it
7.Click open
8.Click download
I needed to download WinRAR as well as update file that is on Fekkers links. I got it from rapidshare for free on an elavuation copy.

hi guys ,ihave 3 star boxes 2 of which i have flashed and all working ok but 1 box does not get sky sports 1,2,3, can anyone help please?

Hi,fekker,just found this forum and joined,you seem to be the one who everyone looks too for advice Hope you can help with starview problem,here goes, bought a box with cd and lead tried to install software to box,but keep getting message,CANT OPEN SERIAL PORT/LAST ERROR:ACCESS DENIED,any help would be much appreciated,,many thanks jim

You should try another COM PORT from the dropdown list & try that. You are using a laptop I assume, are you using a USB adapter & the correct NULL MODEM CABLE?

Cheers Fekker mate, as you can guess im a bit of newbie to this stuff,it was on the gt loader serial port,changed from com 1 too com 2,started to download sweet as a nut,once again thanks,jim,will keep me eye on the site,know doubt ill "bost summet"

hey dude thanks for help,really kind of you,got the download can i ask on the GT download are u supposed to click and drag the bin file into it??then click download cos when u just click on da bin file it asks for the most appropiate program to open this (file)software, Sorry for being silly don't know much

In GTROM click on the BIN FILE button and browse to the .BIN file, then press DOWNLOAD.

hey just wanna say thanx again,,by the way with the sky issue with virgin they have withdrawn the channels i'm now missing sky sports1,2,3 and movies is they an update for this just happened the other day,you think a re scan would help?
