If you want to backup your original xbox 1 games but have since sold your xbox.
I used:
- samsung sh-d162c w/ kreon
- xbox backup creator
- wx360
- craxtion 4
- imgburn
Steps:
- put original game in sh-d162c and open xbc 2.3
- "Options" tab, set "drive specific" to "xbox one"
- "Drive tools" tab, selected "unlock drive"
- "Read Tab", selected "image style > complete backup" then checked box "use sector mapper"
- select "start"
Dual layer-ready iso is created. Now to extract the files to fit it to a single layer.
- open wx360
- click "open file" icon in upper left
- browse to where you saved the dl ready iso, select it, then click "open"
- all files are now shown, click "File" in upper left then "extract all files" and select save location.
- once all the files are extracted, check to make sure they total no more than what will fit on a dvd-5.
Now that you have the files you want to recreate a single layer iso out of them. I used Craxtion 4 to do that. There are other xiso programs which work like Craxtion 4, but I can't comment on them.
***IMPORTANT*** What ever program you use, you want to make sure that it DOESN'T patch the default.xbe. I believe Quix does patch it. You can check by using xbefix. I know Craxtion works because I've already used it for a few games.
***IMPORTANT*** In Craxtion 4 the "Autopatch ISOs/Folders where applicable" box must be UNCHECKED. It is checked by default. Go to "File > Preferences > General Settings" and it's there.
But that's it. Once I made an iso with Craxtion 4 I used imgburn and burnt it to a Sony 16x DVD+R at 8x and it plays perfect.

did you need to patch the iso with a ss file after you recreated it?

XBC injects the ss for you.

Sorry about that. Guess I should've mentioned where above. Go to "File > Preferences > General Settings" and it's there.

I did do SA and it worked for me. Describe what you mean by crash. Freezes, black screen, etc.

I don't have Fable so I can't comment on if it works or not. I thought I've read somewhere else on the forums here that someone else has been able to do it, but I don't know if it was on a single layer or not.
Have you been able to make any other single layer backups this way? Also, I've read in another forum that not all xbox 1 games may work when converted to a single layer. What kind of error are you getting?

I have made other backups this way and it works. It will actually load up the game like normal and go through the dvd file before you get to the New Game/Load Game screen. But right when it's about to get to that screen, it will restart the original dvd content as if I had just inserted the disc.

The game starts up fine, upto the main loading screen, when the loading bar gets full, it freezes, it doesnt go any further from that particular point, sits at the loading screen.

Sticking it would be nice.
Post your working games and I'll keep adding them to the "confirmed working" in the guide.

What I'm asking is when you did make your backup for your xbox1, what method did you use? (i.e. qwix, craxtion, etc...)

@Viper3
I made the backup by linking my comp and xbox 1, then made a FTP connection, and ripped the iso to the comp and burned it. I tried this craxtion method, by extracting all files, etc, and it also works, so I have got a working copy of Fable and GTA SA by using this method. Are you sure the xbe file is okay?

Did you use craxtion 3 or 4? I heard that some people got it working for 3 and not for 4 but I don't know if there is any truth to that.

I would like to know how long it should really take to actually rip a xbox 1 original to your computer using the SH-D162C drive and XBC?

My one gets to around 8%, the security sector area, then takes a very long time to get past that specific area, and it doesnt only do that in that one place, im trying to backup halo, and thats what its doing.
