Lifesaver!

Worked like a champ!

Xbox>Samsung SH-D162C>xbox backup creator>wx360>craxtion 4.0>image

burned image with imgburn = plays on softmod xbox
note: imgburn also didn't complain about media burn speed - TYG02 @ 6X (up to 12X)

burned image with Alcohol 120% = plays on softmod xbox
note: griped about 6X burn - 4x "legal" burn.

All in All - one-happy-eleven-year-old

Well worth the cost of the drive and agravation.

Hi,
I got some NME/Xeno Questions:

Can this method be used to make backups of XBox 1 games, so they work on NME/Xeno chipped 360s?

Is it possible to use this method to make a backup that doesnt work on NME/Xeno and then convert it so it does?

Is it even possible to play XBox 1 backups on NME/Xeno chipped 360s?

Thanks.

Question about this statement in the tutorial:

"once all the files are extracted, check to make sure they total no more than what will fit on a DVD-5."

Well...what if they do total more? I tried to do JADE EMPIRE - Collectors Edition.....and it's TOO BIG... (6.93gb with both layers and 6.13gb with one layer...2.95gb is just for the movie clips!)

Is it possible to delete some non-essential data to try to squeeze larger games on a DVD5? (for instance, game demo's/trailers, which this game does have a folder called DEMOS.....or would that render the game unplayable?

Just curious...probably can't free enough space for this title, but it's good information to know....thanks for the great guide BTW.

- Brett

If it end's up too big then it'll have to be burnt on to a dual layer. And if that's the case then you just need to burn the iso which xbc created. Remember to use the .dvd file, though.

I'm sure you could edit out some of the extras, but I couldn't tell you what to remove. I've seen Jade single layer on the newsgroups.

thanks for the reply...I see what you are saying...(I'm pretty new to xbox 1 backups, even newer then xbox 360 backups)...lol

I was under the impression that xbox 1 copies HAD to be single layer DVD5 discs....but if you can just use DVD9 discs, that's great...I suppose the only reason for wanting to use single layer is economical? Any other reason I'm missing? (I have a pioneer 111L writer)

Thanks!

This guide is awesome and all but before I decide to use it to backup my old games to play on 360, do I also need to patch said games to work for the 360? At this time I do not have a cable long enough to hook up 360 to my internet, and g/f would kill me even if I did so it is not possible for me to patch the games. Is this a list of games that are playable w/o a patch?

That's about it. If you can use a $.40 single layer vs. a $2.00 dual layer, why not.

They do need to be the same region as your 360. And if you haven't downloaded the emulator to your 360, you can go here and download it to your pc and burn it to a disc. Then run that disc in your 360 to install it. Other than that, as long as the games are on the compatability list, they'll work without patching. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardscompatibility.htm

One of the tools /items mentioned here is WX360, what is this?
Also I have working version of craxtion but it's almost 2 years ago so I'm sure there is an update version, where can I find this.
Thank you,

Download wxripper-1.2. It's included in the rar. I don't think Craxtion has been updated in awhile. I'm using Craxtion 4.

Go to Craxtion.com then go to download section & search/look for craxtion 4.0. That's where I got mine last week.
This is the latest version which is already over 2 years old but it works perfectly.

I haven't run in to this problem yet so I couldn't really give you an answer. Which version of XBC are you using? I know 2.6 is out now. It might be worth trying to re-rip it. Although I know Finding Nemo has been out for awhile so 2.3 should have worked.

Can you or is it safe to update hacked 360 so you can play original or back-up xbox games or better not do this.
I'm afraid that I wil not be able to play back-up 360 games on hacked 360 if I decide to have it updated.

Also, I'm trying to copy game onto hacked xbox hdd (not 360), I've already done few games already but on 1 game it says "Error, this game has a file name that's too long. Is there any way around this?
I've never seens thts error message on at least 12-13 ga,es I already have on xbox hdd.

I was actually playing "Dead to Rights" the other on my modded 360. Just make sure you use one of the 360 rippers (XBC or Schtrom) to make a properly stealthed backup.

As for the error you got on the Xbox, I've ran into that in the past and it's an easy fix, but honestly, it's been so long since I've used a modded Xbox that I can't tell you what to do off the top of my head. And I have nothing here to reference from.

Steimy is the one to ask about that. He's good with the original Xbox.

Hello Bhetrick,

I know you've been rather helpful to me with quite a few things in the past. Further to your reply I'm not so sure if you understood my question or if I understand your reply.
My question is, can you play original xbox games on hacked 360 or only back-up/copied xbox can be played on hacked 360.

Where/how do I get a hold of steimy?

When I insert a certain original xbox into hacked 360 it say "it needs to update & for that I need to get something either via xbox live or intenret load/copy some update onto cd & have it installed onto 360. Is it safe to do this since I have hacked 360 or will it mess it up if I do anykind of update as suggested.

It's been a while since I used craxtion to make back-up of xbox games. As stated in tutorial we neede to use craxtion at a point, need to know exactly which of the 9 options that come up we need to use. It starts with "Create new ISO" & ends with "Save game manager".
Thank you,

Yea, I misunderstood you. Sorry about that. Yes, a modded 360 will still play original Xbox 1 game discs along with backups. It is safe to either download and install the update via Live or from Xbox.com.
